My best advice if you want to learn SAP, go into SAP BW.

Why BW?
Been thinking about switching to do something different.
Currently in the technical side of SAP.
How bout the techical side. MM/ SD yadda yadda yadda...
Any opinions?

At the current market right now, BW has the most potential. Highly skilled BW experts earns a lot of money, the highest I've heard for a BW contractor is earning about RM1500 per day.

Technical side of SAP? Are you an ABAPer?

I would imagine the natural progression for u is to learn BASIS

That depends on whether he likes working with systems rather than on the functional and business side of things.
