Wait a second, is this using Android or ?

QUOTE
The biggest challenge of Android in tablets is the lack of apps. This is why the iPad is taking a lion share of tablets despite the number of Android tablets available in the market. To address this, the Mi Pad currently has 100 high quality apps and 400 games available to make full use of its display and processor. They aim to bring this number up to 1,000 apps and 1,000 games by year end

I'm sure the stats are based on MIUI market, since China banned Google Play services and GApps.

Question is, can we download Google Play and download apps from there since we are not in China... ? hmm.gif

first download "google installer" from Miui market, that will install first the GOogle framework, then also all the necessary Gapps.. but better just install the framework, then only install the Play Store from there, while the rest download from Play Store..

There's an app in MIUI market called "Google installer", if I'm not mistaken.
Download the app, then open the app to download all Google services, including Google Play Store, Google Contacts, etc.

By the way, as for Xiaomi phones sold outside China, they already integrated Google services in their phones.
This is through my expensive of using Redmi.

Sounds good thanks guys!

Anyhow, I think I'll wait for a while for the announcement of the Nexus 8 and then decide hmm.gif

Yes, good idea.
Nexus 8 will be made by HTC, so be prepared for first-ever non-plastic build Nexus.

As long as it doesn't jack up the price.. sweat.gif

While I find it hard to switch to a mobile device that's using anything other than vanilla Android, I pray that Xiaomi would provide regular software updates which would be icing on the cake.

I've always liked 4:3 ratio for web browsing on a tablet.

p/s: I'm pretty sure they'll come out with a 10" version, perhaps in the price region of around RM1-1.1k brows.gif

4:3 is good to read book, browse web, just not good for movie.

Exactly. 4:3 is damn good smile.gif

But of course 16:9 is better for media consumption laugh.gif

Looking for 2nd hand if possible, if don't have the new I guess..
Too bad xiaomi Msia might have delays so I can't get from them.

Anyway, do you use one yourself? I notice the display is yellowish/greenish from some video review comparisons. Both my parents Mi3 are yellowish+greenish so I think it could be a common problem..

Yes it does have google account to log in when you first on the mi pad.
It was loaded with China Stable ROM with google side load.

Thanks for the reply. So what's the difference between DirectD's set and official Xiaomi Msia set?

I can't order Xiaomi Msia set because there are delays for the shipment and I'm leaving overseas this Thursday sad.gif

Does that mean 1 charger is for china used pin and another is Malaysia pin?
Now that's cool.

Thanks!

Both Malaysian 2 pin and 3 pin.
