do you guys have any idea on the current market rate for wedding photographer from morning till night?

i am from jb

in KL it's about 2k. RM1900 about the cheapest you can find la basically. more upscale package can go up to even 8k.

About RM 600-800 per 4 hours average.

Better allocate about 2-2.5k for the whole day to be on the safe side.


This is kinda normal for Malay's event. Professional level photographer.

kuching also around 2k+ for whole day. (photographer + videographer together)

don't go for those below 1k mia, later ur photo kena post up to wannabe photographer thread..

too many hipster and noobies who buy big ass whoop camera with telephoto zoom lens and suddenly they become professional photographer already

then offer ridiculously low prices and packages

which matches with their crappy work quality

Actual day photographer really not easy to earn, have to follow from 5am to lunch time after lunch and dinner again... Dunno how tired you are.

most important thing is they teach you how to pose and smile naturally - they always ask you to have a conversation with your beau, and bam, they snap a photo that looks soo natural

i'd say if u have the money for video, the photo u should also have the money. personal opinion is, down the road, would you open up a CD to watch your wedding video again?

i'd look at my photos, maybe, but video is..nah. used to be a photographer, until seriously tired doing it part-time since i'd like to spend my time with my family more.

but yeah, price is 1.5k-3k average and higher usually is more pro, but do look at their past portfolio cuz u dont want to get screwed with
A) an amateur photog who thinks highly of himself
B) an amateur/pro whose style does not suit what you want out of your hiring of them

Ours was taken by these guys. They travel around the world all the time but if they are in your city, you might want to book a time with them. Can find out their itinerary from them.

to do list.

1. plss ask for their list of equipment before hiring. (noob equipment= newbie)

2. ask for portfolio.

3. don't go for below 1k price unless the professional photographer is your friend and helping u.

4. avoid those who manipulated their picture in their portfolio.

I browse through their photos. Let's say I don't want to get merrid anymore.
