morning guys!
im having problem since last night, my DSL ,VOIP,TEL1 ,LAN1,INTERNET keep on blinking and then die and then blinking again.

anyone having this problem right now?
Nope.
And that's a sign of semi-faulty BTU.

Call UniFi helpline at 1300-88-1221 to get a replacement.
The BTU carries lifetime warranty.

Easily fixed by using 5GHz WiFi. smile.gif

Anyone have any recommendations on which router to replace the dir615 with? Something that can handle a lot of users simultaneously. Preferably wireless AC.
That depends on your budget.
How much are you willing to spend?

About 400-500? The cheaper the better of course smile.gif If ac is not possible at that price, then N will do
If you're willing to wait, TP-Link Archer C8 will fit your budget.
Expected price for Archer C8 is around RM400 ~ RM500.

It should be arriving Malaysian shores in the next 1 ~ 2 months.

Awesome, thanks man.

I googled, came up with C-zone @ The School Jaya One that sells this. Do you know any shop that sells it in Midvalley? Selling price around RM269 right?
Where did you find RT-N18U at RM269? blink.gif

about to relocate to new apartment, i have unifi. can i transfer my account? any payment to install in new apartment? fyi, new apartment have unifi coverage, high rise
Yes you can transfer your UniFi to your new apartment.
No charges for relocation. Just go to any TM Point & tell them you want to relocate.

Then bring everything to your new house. BTU, router, HyppTV & dect phone.

Time Fibre is better.
But sadly, it's availability is very limited.

Hey,

Anyone here canceled their unifi account and reapply to a higher speed? (ie VIP5 to VIP10) just to get a new modem and other equipment?

I want to upgrade to VIP10 but my current equipment already 4yrs old...anytime will kaput. And if kaput after I upgrade, equipments will have no warranty.
If your 24 months contract has expired, just terminate & register a new account.
They will only ask you to give back the BTU (modem).
You can keep the rest of the equipments.

Also, new Residential Gateway (router) from TM is not better than the old one.
It's still piece of crap.

You're better off using a 3rd party routers.

time fibre as in with the astro package?...sorry not so familiar
That depends.
The Astro IPTV comes with 2 different ISP. It depends on your area.

If the ISP that comes with the package is Time Fibre, go ahead & register with them.
If the ISP that comes with the package is Maxis Fibre, just forget it.

Can this TP-Link AC1900 be use for Unifi?
If not, then what must I look for that indicates it's ready for Unifi? Looking for the best super duper Wifi using 802.11ac
1. Both TP-Link Archer C8 & Archer C9 hasn't arrive Malaysia yet.
2. Even if you buy it from the US, you still have to wait for a UniFi compatible firmware unless you're using OpenWRT.
3. If you want the best WiFi AC router, go for ASUS RT-AC68U or ASUS RT-AC87U. Both models are UniFi ready.

Btw does Unifi needs a separate modem like Streamyx?
UniFi already provided you with a modem. TM called it as Broadband Termination Unit (BTU).
BTU can't be removed or replaced.

The residential gateway AKA router is the one that you can replace / upgrade.

How about RM 200-300 range?
RM289 can get you ASUS RT-N14UHP
http://www.asus.com/Networking/RTN14UHP/

But if you're willing to add a little extra, I'd suggest RT-N18U.

Anyone have ever tried to ask TM to change to the oren wireless modem one?
I tried once when I registered my 2nd UniFi account, but they said the D-Link DIR-615 is no longer available.
You're better off buying your own 3rd party router from ASUS or TP-Link.

thank you!, my is just 5mbps.. i think Asus is overkill for this.. TP link price lower then asus yes?
ASUS routers are not overkill nor overpriced
Their prices is fair for their high quality products, frequently updated firmwares & they provide the best tech support.
ASUS is the only manufacturer who has their own tech support guy in our forum & he's very active in solving problems.
ASUS also frequently release firmware updates.
Take my 3 & ½ year old RT-N16 for example. This router has already been stopped from production for nearly a year but it still receive firmware updates until today.

TP-Link is cheap, so as the quality of their products, nonexistent tech support & their products rarely receive firmware updates.

I'm speaking based on my own experience owning several ASUS & TP-Link routers.
2 x ASUS RT-N16
1 x ASUS RT-AC68U
1 x TP-Link TL-WR1043ND
1 x TP-Link TL-WDR4300
