I'm quite impressed with the ping stability of YES, i can play dota 2 with no packet losses and around same ping as streamyx. I am gonna continue using YES solely for gaming on my side, and no need share bandwidth with whole family, which is happening now on my TM, at least 10 devices using 1 mbps altogether doh.gif

1mbps... too slow for today, somehow share by so many users.
Just consider upgrade to 4mbps or 8mbps.

Using Streamyx 4mbps for home, and Yes Postpaid 68 for mobile internet. Pretty good, just every month see the total bill of RM200... haiz, Malaysia internet service over price.

I'm looking forward to see what they will bring us too. Hopefully they allow any LTE phone that support Band 38 and 40 connect to their network.
Then, we got alternative option for data plan on 1 phone! Anyway, there are limited LTE phone that support Band 38 & 40 now... but soon will be more.

but YES is on TDD LTE, other telcos now on FDD LTE

even if they launch their LTE service, but bundling expensive TDD LTE modem, the likely outcome can be same as current situation

*
Step 1. Open Notepad

Step 2, type all of this

@echo off
title Microsoft Hosted Network Virtual Adapter
netsh wlan set hostednetwork ssid=thisisyourssid key=thisisyourpasswordkey keyUsage=persistent mode=allow
netsh wlan start hostednetwork
@echo Press anykey to turn off Virtual WiFi
pause>nul
netsh wlan stop hostednetwork
pause>nul

save as .bat

Normally I save it as "SOFTAP.bat".

save at desktop. Every time your GO is plugged and on, use this.

My Yes postpaid subscription going to end soon, most probably will discontinue and switch to 3G with Mifi. No real benefit for me stay on Yes 4G as the coverage is spotty and I only need <1GB for mobile access purpose.

may i remind u, that moe quota is still enforced, though vpn will grant unlimited access to restricted sites, their quota cannot be checked so use cautiously, once quota hit will throttle but still have connection

I feel in term of value for money, streamyx 4mbps or unifi still the best in term of price and performance.
Anyway, for low usage people, Yes FIZ really a good option, as streamyx 1mbps need RM110. By the way, if you do a lot of landline phone call, it still worth the $$.

I will terminate my Yes Super Postpaid after end of 2 years contract and switch to Hotlink prepaid 1GB RM30 per month.

Browse Yes portal, see they still put RM1688 for their "advanced" Eclipse 4G smartphone with 4.1 inch screen & 512MB Ram..... RM300 offer price, I don't think I go for it.

last year to encourage me to renew my contract YES offered me 2 gb extra per
month. My contract expires in 2 month and i notice the quota of 6gb takes a long
time to finish even when i download more video than last month. 6 gb usually
finish in 3 weeks and speed then reduced. This month however i still have
1.5 gb remaining even though my monthly quota ends on the 9th may. Sneaky
strategy to make me happy and renew contract?

Most ISP throttling BT, i think they do but i cant remember the exact details.
While im using H0tlink it does throttling, no seed/peer at all until i use VPN.

If you can connect to seed/peers after connect to VPN, it's confirmed your ISP throttling BT.

It's the only way to bypass throttling, because all internet traffic went thru VPN are encrypted.
But only use VPN for torrenting as you never know whether if those are honey pot or not.

But if your connection sucks then VPN may not be able to help at all sweat.gif

Sorry I am confuse about this:

The monthly RM68 with 4GB all day, does it mean whole month only 4GB quota, or everyday limited to 4GB of data usage?

So troublesome to terminate?
This the reason I so hate to sign-up postpaid service. Before signing up, they tell you this and that, give you all the carrot and everything sound easy and possible.
After signed up, no no no, you cannot do this, you not allow to do this, you must pay for this and bla bla.

This the reason I prefer to stay on prepaid for my phone line, easy to switch and less trouble. smile.gif

I have a Yes prepaid account - converted from Proton plan in March. I still have about RM140 credit, but I just received an SMS telling that my account is expiring soon.
What does that means? Should I reload to prevent the loss of the remaining credits? Or just use it to break the 45 days inactivity barrier?

Just use it to stay activated.

Receive similar sms when a period of inactive use of the account.

The leak on TM LTE wireless broadband package. RM15 for 1GB (15 days) and RM40 for 3GB (30 days). With this attractive package, I think Yes will highly impact. Great, more players, more attractive plan.

Online buy a prepaid account from Yes.my portal.
Or go to Yes store grab a new prepaid, or register a prepaid account.

yes 2km is within coverage. line is good, but best is by using zoom, yes coverage only show where there are guaranteed 5bar coverage to avoid communication problem, bbest is by going there and test by urself. that said, yes tower have a radius of 3-5km so ur 2km distance is kinda guaranteed got line smile.gif

Waiting for YTL to announce the LTE plan for their Yes 4G. 2H of 2014 now, I think they are not ready yet, may be Nov / Dec 2014.

For TDD-LTE, the devices choice not much in market, as China TDD-LTE not ready take off yet, all prediction push out and delay.

hello guys. i am checking out the prepaid package but I am a bit confused.

http://www.yes.my/v3/personal/plans/prepai...ternet-plans.do

So according to the website, I already have a device, I only need to purchase a Prepaid YES ID which costs RM30. So my question is, i still have to purchase extra credits to use the data right? e.g. VP98? Or is data included in this RM30?

If yes, then how much is the quota for the data as the website says there's no quota but i'm sure there's a catch some where. sweat.gif Thanks!

you need to keep paying RM30.. or not the system will automatically credit you with RM30. next time you wanna top up.. you wanna count how many months you didnt top up.. and that adds up the amount that you need to pay first

Wireless broadband latest news....

Telekom Malaysia has officially launched TMgo, marking its foray into the 4G broadband space. This is a technology refresh of its earlier CDMA offering which aims to provide faster broadband across different segments. The TMgo 4G service is based on LTE running at 850MHz, which is able to deliver download speeds up to 20Mbps.

There are a total of 3 top up options which offers different validity periods and data quota. The minimum RM10 gives you 1GB of data for 7 days while RM30 gives you 3.5GB for a month. For those who use a lot, you can opt for 6GB at RM50 which is valid for 60 days.

----------------------

This make Yes4G look very unattractive and expensive!!
Wake up Yes4G... Please cut your price further for prepaid plan.

Hi, thanks for ur kindness.
I tried for many times, plug in and out, restart, struggled for few hours just succeed.
But once I log out, or turn on pc, I need to keep trying for many times, this problem keeps happening.
What's the problem sad.gif

Same problem happened whenever I install driver from Dongle or clean install latest driver from Yes website.
Is this Dongle problem? sweat.gif

I get 3-4 bars of signal, but I placed it with desktop under table, speed only between 1-2mbps, do I need to buy active usb extension and place it near window?
Will this help to increase speed since I already get 3-4 bars of signal. icon_question.gif

I just tried TM Go 2 days ago, my home is under coverage, quite surprise since TM only mentioned Pendang, Alor Setar and Melaka.
I can get 27 Mbps easily, can get higher speed when tested with Yes server, 32.61 Mbps.
Never dream of my hometown so ulu under high speed internet coverage drool.gif

Wow cool!
Please share more print-screen and your experience with it. Kind of interested and hope they expand their coverage to more places.

Wonder why they never update their website with this new design Zoom device?
Same spec and change design? Or it support LTE version?

Does YES have a new modem?
This Zoom looks different. The white may be due to fiz plan but I haven't seen this modem before.

yeah if dongle not working, sure can claim.

zoom get better reception but need power adapter, not portable.
, huddle is portable wifi.

yes both of u can use each in 1 device,
1 yes account actually can be used simultaniously on two or more different devices.

Hi all, sorry if this question has been asked but I'm not sure what keyword to search for,

can i use the huddle as a normal mifi for other services, lets say digi or maxis' broadband? or is it locked down to yes only.

Yes is using wimax technology on 2300mHz frequency...

While digi, Maxis, using gsm, wcdma technology on 900/1800/2100/2600 frequency

So yes device can't use for other ISP

YES Huddle is locked to YES network only, is no-simcard-type of MIFI.

termination for yes4g contract is ridiculous, what u already signed up earlier is basically ( if u read carefully ) states u need to pay the remaining of the contract in order to terminate, which also meant .. u still gonna pay all those 24months even if u terminate ha!

excuse for this, is coz they gave u the device for free. which is ridiculous but yea, thats how ISP nowadays work right. binding customers as long as they can. who knows withing 2 years what kind of package will we have, yet coz we are already binded, thats it .

anyway if u dont want contract, can pm me directly , cheaper ofc

Yes do new promotion for postpaid plan...

Free Acer Iconia tablet + Huddle XS for new subscribers.
Anyway, you need to sign 2 years contract. It is tricky....
I guess their business is bad, thus they need to do this.

Im using yes fiz. Siaoo loh.. they double charge me for the first month of usage + average usage

Example:
Registered on 7 july 2014
Bill ended on 21 july 2014

Bill come out by the end of 21 july is rm 79(monthly use) + rm39.50 (average usage)

For the first weeks 7-14 july 2014 i didnt even got to use the service at all coz modem is defected. They dont upgrade the modem firmware and i have to bear the consequances. I demand to change it with the new modem as their t&c but they didnt replace my modem and i have to send it alone to their store in melaka city and they passed it to headquater. When i come to their store one fat lenglui with ugly face keep telling me, that its our fault that the firmware not upgrading while trying to plug in for the first time usage. Can you imagine how long i have to wait? And without any reason i should pay for average usage and monthly usage at all? F*** off this ytl

When i call their unfriendly service centre, indian girl name levin scolded me and arguing with me about bills as she said they didnt get any report from my case to waive my bill.

Fyi they have separated lines only for technical services and customer services. their technical staff has agreed to waive my payment as i didnt use it but they dont. Instead they double charged me for first month billing.

To anyone considering to sign up for 24 months contract with yes, please please reconsider it. Otherwise they scam u for no reason.

i think you misunderstand

the RM79 full is advance 1 month, and RM 39.50 is First month Prorated amount,.

so it is correct amount of fee in billing,. nothing wrong nod.gif

I'm currently using yes4g rm109 package and in the last month of its 2 years contract. In term of speed no doubt its good, but as i am a heavy user, the quota will always not going to be enough for me. As streamyx or unifi are out of option because my 'taman' here is a new housing area n tm has already confirmed it, i try to survey other option such as yes fiz. Its available in my area. With unlimited quota, it seem to be a good option, but the speed only 1mbps n have 2 years contract keep me thinking over n over again..

GDay to all,
Hope some sifus willing to explain and possibly provide some guide.. noob here.. blush.gif

I recently upgraded my device from Huddle XS to Zoom.
All this while using Huddle, I got gud connection speed while using Flinch VPN (premium). However, wif Zoom I'm getting turtle speed instead.
Q : Does Zoom block VPN passthrough?
Q : How to go about tis?
Under Huddle's config/setup there's an option for VPN passthrough but non that I'm aware of in Zoom. Am I missing something?
Need VPN for privacy sake.. nod.gif
Thanks in advance.. notworthy.gif

probability leaning towards WITH coverage. more so if u using yes zoom. huddle is way weaker compare to zoom. lets say u get 3 bar by using huddle xs, ull get 5 bar by using zoom at the same exact area.

hence if u really wanna test, bring both devices lol

Anyone wanting Zoom can offer me via pm.
Only cod @ Ampang / Cheras area.
Very2 new and 100% functional, just that I HATE it coz my VPN subscription couldn't get thru properly unlike HuddleXS.
Dunno how to configure for VPN pass through.
No time tinkering so have to settle wif HuddleXS instead.
Zoom W/o VPN... Wow! VGud speed!

Yes numbers are not portable (in or out) via MNP
MNP only can be done from GSM-3G-4GLTE telcos, some MVNO also can do porting depending on how thick-MVNO they are.

Portable MNOs:-
Maxis, Celcom, Digi, UMobile

Portable MVNOs:-
TuneTalk, RedOne, XOX, Clixter, Tron, Buzzme, FRiENDi Mobile

Non-portable "telco"
redtone-015, Yes WiMAX, P1, My Evolution, Speakoutwireless, Merchantrade, Smartpinoy,

According ASUS's website, YES' GO dongle can be use with ASUS's router .
http://www.asus.com/event/networks_3G4G_support/

So i bought the RT-N66U router and tried it at home.
After inserted the 4G GO dongle, turn on the router and set the userid/password.
reboot, turn off the router and turn on again.
The status page does show that the router recognize the Go dongle
but it can't get connected to the internet.
Try many times, also upgraded the firmware and tried again but no luck.

While my Zoom router is able to connect without any problem.

Anyone has tried ASUS's router and success connect to YES ? icon_question.gif

Maybe in thread V2, will try to find that later,

Bought this router from a shop in Lowyat plaza.
You can get the price list from Lowyat website homepage anyway.
Different shops does quote different prices.

I've checked with Yes Zoom modem and I can get around 4 bars. Do you have any contact for yes store in Kelantan? I've tried the dealer locator and went to a few shops listed in Tanah Merah but nobody have any clue about Yes Fiz

It to sell to teacher & students??
I am guessing that MOE = Ministry of Education?

I did found some forumer said they got 30-40GB for RM70, can use 1-2 months. And every 1-2 months need to change to new ID, i guess is this plan.
