My Xperia ZL using a 1.5Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro is not even faster than the Intel Atom Z2580 2Ghz, much less a Snapdragon 400!!! Seriously people, look at the actual performance, dont assume every Snapdragon lineup will beat the crap out of Intel Atom. I'm not sure its due to the design or its because of the Intel Atom processors, the ZF5 runs really cool... even after long hours of video streaming. I cant say the same for my Xperia ZL, which becomes quite warm. QUOTE(sanderz @ Jun 6 2014, 10:01 AM) LoL, using Snapdragon 400 CPU's (Antutu 17K) are downgraded compared to Z2580 (Antutu 23K). And yalah, probably the fact to support LTE, maybe Intel SOC doesn't support. And probably the juice can lasts longer too... This post has been edited by dinkydong: Jun 6 2014, 11:03 AM

Indeed, there are apps that are not optimised for the x86 architecture. Having said that, i have not come across any issues running apps that i use on the ZF5. If they are not optimised for the x86 architecture and yet runs quicker on the Intel Z2580, imagine how much more potential the Atom processors will have once the apps are optimised for it! Remember the Asus ZF5 is a budget/mid-tier model... dont expect them to let their cost go up by using more expensive components. QUOTE(Laukxsakai @ Jun 6 2014, 11:06 AM) -cough-manyappsisntoptimizeforintelx86architecture-cough- I wonder why asus doesnt use s600 Intel has indeed improved as they realized the potential huge mobile phone/tablet with Android market if their chipset can be further improved and more widely accepted. Read the below analysis, Intel claimed like 97%-99% pass rate compatibility with their Atom Z2560. Then again you need to check on the specific device model exactly what can run or not. But the number is high enough to ignore for the average user in my opinion. http://www.theregister.co.uk/Print/2014/06...id_superiority/

QUOTE(eastwest @ Jun 6 2014, 11:36 AM) Is there any app that is not compatible with x86? You can check on the Lenovo K900 thread as they posted apps that have trouble to run smoothly or in the review I posted earlier for ZF6 noted a version of Grand Theft Auto cannot run on ZF6. If you are a super die hard of a particular apps or game, Google that apps/game name with the phone model or chipset.

However Vice City maxxed out all settings and it was smooth, running perfectly.

You know la, power hunger. err...but according to this article http://www.theregister.co.uk/Print/2014/06...id_superiority/ is not wor....and on the the review for ZF6 I posted, stated battery life is one of the strogest point for ZF6. So I also wonder why ZF4 got so much issue. Maybe looking at the battery size ratio versus screen size ratio, plus other factors between ZF4, 5, and 6 can reveal more info?

No complaints concerning the battery life of my ZF5. I find that it last a little longer than my Xperia ZL and both phones have battery capacities quite close to each other. Of course if u were to compare with a Note 3 or even the old candy bar type of Nokia phones, then the ZF5's battery life is bad.
