Bosses, appreciate views on the stone below. I've checked the cut estimator and it falls nicely within the intersect of both AGS ideal and GIA Ex. Don't suppose the medium fluorescence is an issue.

https://www.gia.edu/report-check?reportno=6402923772

Also, i've spoken with numerous sales reps and they all mentioned the color gradient drops off steeply between G and H hence they don't sell anything below G. Is this true?

Hmm. Drop steeply I never hear before, but my experience is limited.

Usually brands will limit their selection to certain colour and clarity for the purpose of branding or marketing. For example WhiteFlash will has a higher range which is called Collection Series and it is limited to colourless and VVS and above.

Also, colour on the cert is more like reference. If the same stone is graded by another appraiser, there can be chance that the colour may go up, go down, or remain the same. Therefore, to me, is just marketing. Most important thing is whether the item bought is worth the price, that's all that matters to me I guess.

As for the stone you shared, the proportions look lovely. Hopefully same can be said for the hearts and arrows which represents the overall cut quality.

This stone is superb, I would buy it if I have the dough lol

G-H-I-J are near colorless range, as for G vs H , this article say the SA is bs-ing lol

https://selectingadiamond.com/qa-g-color-vs...whats-the-deal/

I think clarity is more important and yours already VS1 which is good enough already.

Thanks guys and indeed the link proves that SA mostly BS. The difference is absolutely not discernable even at 10x magnification.

No expereince with Oval diamond, so can't comment

As for lab grown vs mine diamond, there is no right or wrong answer or which is better, it depends on your priority. Lab grown definitely much cheaper but no resale value. If your emphasis is not focused primarily on the resale value of the diamond, then a Lab Grown Diamond is a good alternative to purchasing a more expensive Natural Diamond, you’ll get more bang for your buck.

The choice is completely up to you. The most popular items to take into consideration when making the choice between lab vs mined are : 1. your budget, 2. your significant half’s preference, and 3. whether or not you prioritize resale value.

GIA has acquired IPs from AGS. AGS and GIA are now under the same roof: https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid...mibextid=Nif5oz

Not bad.

Check the BGM (Brown Green Milky) value from James Allen if you intend to buy. Make sure no brown, no green, no milky.

Per kambingkoh - not bad...

Can consider the below too, just additional USD80.... it is a VS2 which I think is more than enough to our naked eyes, however it's a True Hearts which is a super ideal cut, which is super rare and less than 1% of all ideal cut diamonds have the perfect proportions and internal symmetry required to earn the True Hearts’ distinction.

Can ask JA if they can compare it side-by-side maybe....

Good luck!

On a side note my stone is ready, going to pick up this Friday, can't wait.... biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

I think expert will tell you the pavilion angle is too steep, I think this one is better :

https://zcova.com/mined-diamond/selected-di...8?start=diamond

this has the perfect CA/PA and not much inclusion
