I didn't have pictures or video for the stones.

GIA REPORT NUMBER: 6415219897

I input the data and get the hca score 3.1 as below,

Diamond screener cut estimator shows that it is slightly out of AGS Ideal based on proportions.

user posted image

It is just a guidance tool though. One good thing is that diamond screener cut estimator will show you how diamonds with similar proportions (table, crown angle, pavilion angle) look like at the bottom. From the looks of it, they are acceptable, but can be better. You try change your pavilion angle to 40.8 and see the sample diamonds. They look better.

Nonetheless, since you mentioned that you do not have any video or picture, then I assume it is a physical stone in a physical store. You can try to request to view the hearts and arrows using the scope, see if the arrows are at least straight and tidy.

You can also compare the diamond against any signature diamonds (if any) in the store. Not all shops have a signature range though.

Lastly, do compare prices and see if the price is okay.

I believe it is to inform you how your diamond will look like compared to the average sized diamonds.

The price for the 0.4ct is quite good.

The price for the 0.5ct can be better IMO, but then if you are buying from a brick-and-mortar shop/well-established online store, then I will say the price is okay. A quick on Baemont and ZCOVA also show prices between 8.3k - 8.7k.

The 0.5ct proportions look pretty good.

If the physical stone is available, I don't think there is video, but you can try ask.

Nonetheless, if you can see the real stone, I think that's the best because you already how you see how the stone like in real life.

You can use the Hearts & Arrows scope and try to adjust your eyes to see the diamond, but it take some time to get used to the Hearts. The arrows are easier.

Thanks sifu, the physical diamonds didn't have any videos. Had time to look around over the weekend and shortlisted a few from Wah Chan:
2318869307 - manage to get this down to 7,950 for loose diamond
user posted image

6342237807 - 8888 (set in 18k WG) - checked with cutscreener and it seems to fall outside GIA EX
user posted image

6335361594 - 10650 (set in 18k WG)

Alternative, he also took me to Zcova showroom and they suggested these:
https://www.zcova.com/diamond?diamond=263538853
https://www.zcova.com/diamond?diamond=263502683
https://www.zcova.com/diamond?diamond=277431394

Any idea what the HCA score for these would be? I've signed up for pricescope but always getting this error. Anyone else has this issue?

Thank you for all the advice. My other half has left me to choose my preferred engagement ring which is becoming stressful rclxub.gif and I also don't want to burn his pockets. What would be the best value based on the above?

For Wah Chan, price and proportions i will pick this:
6335361594 - 10650 (set in 18k WG). The price is fair if you ask me. It is a 0.57ct, so side-by-side with a 0.6ct also won't have substantial differences in terms of size.

For ZCOVA, among all three, I will pick the last one. But the price doesn't seem that good. If I compare to this: https://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/r...id=myengringexp (affiliate link), the wire transfer amount is USD 2048. Then we still can get USD 100 off for first time registered users, which make the diamond to become USD 1948. This is approximately RM 8,230.52.

Thank you sifu. If I prefer to help him save a bit more on the ring, any of the 2 other 2 WC ones any good?

2318869307 is acceptable for its proportions IMO. The price is definitely good.

It is SI1 with cloud as the main inclusion, so make sure the diamond doesn't look blurry or sleepy.

Actually if you can see all the stones, do compare side-by-side and see which one you like the most.

The remaining one I will skip.

Hi sifu, i'd like to seek your inputs for these 3 diamonds.

https://www.gia.edu/report-check?reportno=1428573483

I'm more inclined towards 5423661546 for its better proportion. Your thoughts on this? Thanks in advance!

If you don't mind, you can share your requirements, such as budget and 4Cs.

Hi, truly appreciate your help on this. I'm looking at a budget of about RM7k, including ring setting - have set aside about RM2k for that. However, I'm willing to increase the budget slightly if there's a good piece. I have gathered another 3 for your opinion - these are going for about RM4.7k. Any thoughts?

The proportions of this diamond looks good: https://www.gia.edu/report-check?reportno=1415649814

Followed by the first diamond, and lastly the last diamond.

These diamonds overall should look great if the cut quality is not too shabby. Therefore, you still need to see how the actual diamond look like. You can either look at highly magnified video/picture (if the diamond is not locally available), or just look at the actual diamond itself and see if the arrows are well-aligned. Also, you can also check the Hearts as well (harder to see, but not impossible) using a Hearts & Arrows scope. Price wise, it is fair, considering most diamonds have increased price lately.
