Have u update?
*
No I have not. I won't install dev rom for now. Wait till their kitkat rom is at least stable only I update. I faced a bug on the messaging apps on previous 4.5.9 update, and no fix for that this week, I'll skip.

QUOTE(ralfmars83 @ May 16 2014, 06:41 PM)
I have updated. Antutu down to 27k. Overall experience still ok though.

Which bugs on the messaging apps?
*
when viewing sms, it won't show the contact name, show number instead. I already make a bug report to them.

The one at the top? Mine is showing the contact name.
*
Yes, the one on top. Do your contact all set with country codes already? If yes then that might not trigger it. I'm not sure.

Quick question. This phone using micro sim or normal sim?
*
QUOTE(andyjyneo @ May 17 2014, 02:01 PM)
Haha, you're right. rclxms.gif
Mini SIM. The smallest SIM.
*
Its mini sim, not the smallest (nano sim is smallest), the standard 1 used by older phones. If you buy Malaysia or singapore set, they will provide another adapter for micro sim.

QUOTE(jeremy05 @ May 17 2014, 04:30 PM)
haha, u think like that easy? brows.gif

cannot! it won't install. brows.gif
*
It is that easy, go to the market app by xiaomi, download google app downloader, select the google apps you want, done. Gapps works too, and there's more way to do it.

QUOTE(andyjyneo @ May 17 2014, 05:09 PM)
Haha, who is it?
I'm not China haters, just MIUI hater only.
Not necessary, bro.
Mi3 till now, still no AOSP, but Mi2 & Mi2S have AOSP and CM woh...
Yup, I agree. The basic of porting is to find the exact same model of processor that currently have custom ROM.
No doubt Mi3 is using Snapdragon 800, but the specific model is... totally different from the phones in the market.
*
Mi2 and Mi2s if I wasn't wrong Xiaomi already released the source code.

QUOTE(jeremy05 @ May 17 2014, 06:09 PM)
why need buy import set, while local set more cheaper and with google play apps? brows.gif
*
Well it's not about buying import sets or not but rather you won't just stick with stable rom all the time wouldn't you? When you play around with roms, well you'll still need to install the Gapps yourself.

does after placing the order, we must pay on the spot?

or there is a period of 24 hour for you to clear the payment?

must use paypal or we have the option to use credit card?
so can use credit card?

You must pay first to confirm you purchase. After you press the check out button and pay then only means you secured yourself a unit.

QUOTE(zhiyuanchan @ May 17 2014, 11:04 PM)
Actually official 1 year warranty is cover what?
*
If follow SG, 1 year for hardware, and 6 months for Xiaomi original battery, charger and other accessories packaged with the product.

Hmm , than official 1 year warranty this better than those AP set with 2 years warranty , but LCD and etc just 3months.
Planning to get AP set , but 3months.  rclxub.gif
Due 20th 12pm still at school.  doh.gif
*
Definitely buying directly from Xiaomi is better, 1 year full warranty for phone itself. thumbup.gif

Hurm, just got info that the output of the Mi powerbank might only be 0.8A. Is this true?

I tried to google for info but can't find any official sources stating the output current, only unofficial ones mentioning it's 2.1A output.

QUOTE(Joey Christensen @ May 18 2014, 01:23 PM)
Hi everyone,

Just a few questions...

1. Is there any place that has demo unit for this smartphone model?
2. As a confirmation, is the battery built-in?
3. As mentioned by a fellow, the English translation is very, very bad. What does it mean? Is it just the menu interface or something else? Unfortunately, Mandarin is pretty much an unknown language to me.
4. Where to place purchase via outright by cash? Preferably original unit.

Thought of getting this particular phone just for fun and to replace my long serving Samsung Galaxy SII which until today is still running fine (albeit some hiccups-seldom).
*
2. Yes, built in. Can't open back case unless you pry it open.
3. It's still understandable, you won't notice it unless your England level is over 9000

For me, I will always wanna use my phone in English despite I know Mandarin.

If the translations is suck, that's a pain to use it.
*
It wasn't bad to the level you can't understand it. Like I said, unless you're English level is over 9000, then you won't notice much.

QUOTE(GuN @ May 18 2014, 01:48 PM)
How's the battery life? W/o charging can last whole day?
*
The screen drain the battery quite a lot, but if low to moderate usage (<3-4 hours screen-on time) then it could last a day or two (if you turn off location service, sync, wifi and data). Mine when it goes to deep sleep mode, 8 hours and it doesn't even drop 1%.
