What he meant is Asus is overpriced. You can get Zotac version at RM2299. Core i5-4460 spec will blow FX-6350 including overclocked away on games.

Thanks for speedy reply.

Sorry I didn't put the price earlier. Most of the prices are from Feiton. Their prices mostly lower than viewnet.
http://www.lelong.com.my/merchant/feiton.htm
AMD FX 8320 AM3+ 3.5GHz - RM515
Msi 970A-G43 - RM233
Corsair 8GB DDR3 1600 - RM244
MSI R9 280x 3GB - RM1,099
Samsung 840 EVO SSD 120GB - RM275 (I ald have a 2TB HDD, just need to get a SSD  icon_rolleyes.gif )
FSP RAIDER 650  - RM269
AeroCool VS-3 Advance RM109

Total RM2744

- Will my setup perform better than the one u guys suggest?
- I'm not sure going AMD is the right decision. AMD seems a lot cheaper where I can spend more on GC.
- If going AMD, will FX 6300 enough? Will it be a bottleneck for GC? Should I get FX8320 instead.
- Is GTX 760 suffice?
Again, thx!  notworthy.gif
*
How is AMD cheaper with FX-8320? You will need at least 8-phase VRM motherboard(RM469 for Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3) so it doesn't kill the motherboard. On top of that, the power supply requirements is higher for AMD CPUs.

You are building a gaming rig. Intel is better for it and there are more games that favors Intel.

Core i5-4690K - RM739
Asrock Z97 Anniversary motherboard - RM399
Corsair 8GB DDR3-1600 x 1 - RM244
MSI R9 280X 3GB DDR5 - RM1099
Samsung 840 Evo 120GB SSD - RM275
Corsair VS 550W power supply - RM179
Aerocool VS-3 Advance casing - RM109

RM3044 total

It can play 1080p but it may not have room for you to do something else at the same time.

hi all shifus here,

sorry if asking at wrong place.

I am looking for a blue-ray drive for desktop pc to play some blue-ray movie.

And the cheapest I found is this liteonBLU-RAY ROM which cost about RM149.00 (price is from viewnet pricelist).

I just want to double-confirm the above mentioned drive can only read and play blue-ray disc right? Because i only need play some Blue-Ray Movies only. (write and copy not needed).

I wonder if there is any USB external blue-ray drive? cant find any below  RM150.

thanks and sorry for trouble.
*
It should be able to play Blu-ray movies. However, it will require the software. VLC is one of the software that plays Blu-ray movie.

You don't need any monitors right? You don't really need any 3rd party cooling system especially if you're not into overclocking.

Intel Core i5 4460 - RM569
Asrock H97M Pro4 - RM299
Corsair Value Ram 8GB DDR3 1600MHz - RM244
Intel 530 Series 120GB SSD - RM289
WD Caviar Blue 1TB HDD - RM174
Seasonic S12 II 620W PSU - RM299
Lite-On 24x DVDRW – RM59
Casing & Graphic re-used

Total - RM1933 (prices are from Viewnet)

Optional:
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (OEM) - RM319
*
Swap Core i5-4460 to Xeon E3-1230 V3 (RM799) if overbudget is fine without OS. Kindly take note Penang prices are higher.

Therefore, should add up a bit more for the gpu i guess. i3 + gtx 760 shud be good combo masta raven?  hmm.gif

So, mobo is just about the speed of data transfer. thats all rite?  rclxub.gif
*
Please also take note there are also games that demands CPU power like Watchdogs, MMORPGs and RTS.

There is difference between GTX750 and GTX750 Ti as well. RM124 for 8GB built-in SSD on Seagate SSHD is expensive. I would suggest going regular 1TB then buy 128GB SSD later. You can always add it later and reinstall or migrate the OS. Data migration has no data loss.

128gb ssd how much eh? if combo with 1 tb hdd then how much?  sweat.gif

Thanks a lot for the tips. Hence, should I wait a bit more for the price to go down? Or, just pay increase the budger around 2200-2350 maybe?

Whats ur advice master?  notworthy.gif

120-128GB SSD can be found for RM239-299 depending on brand and grade of the SSD.

When you buy a PC, you will try to buy the best price/performance and use it for a long time. RM2350 can get you these.

Core i5-4460 - RM569
Asrock B85M-HD3 motherboard - RM239
Kingston 4GB DDR3-1600 x1 - RM129
Leadtek GTX750 Ti 2GB DDR5 - RM549
WD Blue 1TB hard disk - RM174
DVD writer of your choice - RM59
Antect VP500 or FSP Hexa 500W power supply - RM149
Coolermaster K280 case - RM129
Samsung S22C170BS 21.5" monitor - RM359

RM2356 total

Changed to better motherboard, CPU and power supply.

Yeah, the price dropped a lot. Hard to predict the lifetime of it because there are always some games that demands more power.

Some overpriced items there. It can easily go over your budget.

Performance RAM doesn't give you a big boost. Get better CPU instead. 4930K is slightly slower than 4960X

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/core-i...ark,3557-5.html

If you are not going to SLI, 750W is already more than enough.

Refined

Core i7-4930K (hexa-core) - RM1819
Noctua NH-D14 cooler - RM339
Asus P9X79 motherboard (8 RAM slots) - RM939
Kingston 8GB DDR3-1600 x2 - RM488
Asus GTX780 6GB DDR5 Strix - RM2159
Plextor M5 Pro Xtreme 256GB SSD (M6 Pro not released yet) - RM669

DVD writer of your choice - RM59
Seasonic X-750 power supply - RM629

The work you are doing favors more CPU cores. I already posted the benchmarks on my previous reply. Is additional 2 core with HT and 8 RAM slots with quad channel worth the money for you?

RM585 for 256GB is worth the money. Go for that instead.

This setup is more into mainstream and gaming. You have Intel Quick Sync support as well.

Definitely Noctua is better for 24/7 overclocked setup.

I didn't research much on the casing. Just buy whatever you like.
