QUOTE(TheHitman47 @ Aug 14 2014, 06:52 PM) he prolly confuse between R9 280 and R9 280x. Oh damn misread again. I thought 280X, why does AMD comes up with these crazy names. Only added X and bam that's a faster card yer blockhead lol. Yes 760 is more or less on par with 280 ( non X ) and 770 is on par with 280X hown

QUOTE(Zgames @ Aug 14 2014, 04:52 PM) 760 is weaker than the 280, better get 770. The 770 is on par with the 280. Bro, 280 and 280 X make some quite serious different better be clear bout that.

Still, they both are pretty much rebrand of the older topdog cards, LOL. This post has been edited by Human10: Aug 14 2014, 09:07 PM

Hi guys. Since we are talking about 280x, I have a quick question.
I was set on SAPPHIRE r9 280X TOXIC because it was suppose to be value for money.
Then I came across SAPPHIRE R7 265.
I compared both and deduced that the 280x is more than twice the price, but does not provide twice the performance.
I think the 265 is thus better value for money.
Am I right? What do you sifus think?

If you're fine with at least above 30FPS (and probably lower settings..),then get the 265,but if i were you,i'll go and grab 280X. Are you getting a new GPU?If so,rig specs? http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/1041?vs=1127This post has been edited by Minecrafter: Aug 15 2014, 05:25 PM

The higher end stuff always cost more money but increased not much.

Thanks for the suggestion. It seems that the the 280x can allow me to play Dota at 120fps while 265 will max out at 60fos. I guess... That's double the performance? 2. Yes, I'm getting a new rig. I only do so once every 4-5 years and there is always so much catching up to do. Newer GPUs consume less power, produces less noises and do so much more compared to my current rig. 3. I choose GPU first and build other parts around it. Most likely will go with i5-4690k. Thank you sifus.

Am I right? What do you sifus think? Lol, you don't often get double performance for double the price... Also, 265 is a power hog for its performance. And if you are serious bout performance, you shouldn't be looking at card cost under rm800.

Thank you sifus. Any frame rate over 60Hz won't be helpful unless you have a corresponding monitor of 120Hz. Though, higher frame rate will be "safe" and still in the non-lag region just incase a sudden frame rate drop (a drop of frame rate below 30Hz is interpreted as lag). Anyway, what's the most advanced game and resolution/setting details you plan to play at? If you want efficient cards, check out Nvidia's new line of card with Maxwell architecture. Those cards can easily be twice as efficient as current Kepler line. Though currently they only launched lower mid end card, GTX750(ti). Hence you need to wait till this year end or next q1 for their flagship with the new architecture. If you going for an overclocking build? This post has been edited by Human10: Aug 15 2014, 06:15 PM
