Hi All,

Stumble this in garage sales

Package includes:
CPU: Intel® Core™ i5-3470 CPU @ 3.20GHz (4 CPUs), ~3.6GHz
RAM: Kingston DDR3 8GB
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650
MOBO: Gigabyte GA-H77M-D3H
HDD: Western Digital Blue 500GB
SSD: Kingston SSDNow 300V 60GB Solid State Drive
Power Supply: SilverStone Strider Essential Series 500W
Casing: Cooler Master Elite 431 Plus Mid Tower
Monitor:Samsung SA300 21.5 inch LED Monitor
Samsung DVD Writer Super Write Master
Total:RM1,500 ( bought early 2013)

Know shouldn't ask like this but when it comes to pc I am total noob. Is it worth to buy?
I am actually looking to buy a new dekstop but budget only around 2k include monitor. But saw this in garage sales.

Mostly use for movies, browsing internet, games (Dragon nest, dota, LoL,).

The pc will be situated in a room with no sunlight, minimal air-flow (only fan).

Thanks all.

I personally find this to be a rather good deal. It is priced just about right. wink.gif

Yes, 8 series can support with BIOS update. 9 series boards have some additional features like SATA Express and M2 socket (some H97 boards don't have this feature though) and also support for upcoming Broadwell processors. 8 series should also be able to support Broadwell, though it still remains to be confirmed.

I'm in kind of a rut on my machine, looking forward to GTA V.. been a moderate gamer when I was younger, now just light gaming to none as growing older & moving to actual cars rather than car games lol...anyway, on to my question;

Current machine;
Core2Duo but cant remember which model honestly.
Team Elite DD2 2GB 1066mhz (planning to get a 4GB kit soon)
Gigabyte DS3 775 mobo
Zotec 9800gt
Platter harddisk, no SSD
CM RealPower 500W

Alright, my gold is to be able to play GTA V when it comes out in a couple months, so without spending several thousands (which I dont have) on a brand new setup, I am planning to replace the below components;

Core2Quad Q6600
Either a sub RM700 new gfx card or a used older card to get the best bang for buck

My question is it worth getting the GPU for my machine? I am not looking for absolute high resolution while gaming, just enough for it to look good & playable.

The most graphics demanding game I have ran on my machine is Crysis2 @ 1080p with medium or high settings, and its acceptably smooth for me.

So...RM 700 for GPU? How about the Processor,mobo and RAM? And a better PSU I'd say..

Just go with a H97 board would do. wink.gif Actually, i3 would suffice for your needs. And yes, your PSU is sufficient.

Core i5 4460 - RM589
Asrock H97M Pro4 - RM299

Total: RM888

As stated, my plan is to upgrade to a C2Q Q6600 (used is about RM100), and RAM also will be expanding to 4GB.. again, as stated in my original post.

Your choice. tongue.gif ITX boards do lack expansion options though.

Your card still can be installed fully to the PCI-E slot right? If so, I see no issues with it touching the case.

Thanks for the reply. I won't need any casing, should I ditch socket 1155 and change to 1150?is there any marked difference? :-)
