Disney XD will be airing the American English version of "Doraemon" in this coming summer. However, several amendments will be made to suit the American audiences' taste and lifestyle. The amendments have caused uproar amongst Japanese netizens who slammed Disney for not respecting the originality of "Doraemon".

Amongst the amendments are:

1. Names of the characters and tools will be changed:
Nobita -> Noby
Gian -> Big G
Suneo -> Sneech
Shizuka -> Sue
Takecopter -> Flapper
Dokodemo Door -> Anywhere Door

2. Chopsticks will be not seen in the American version of "Doraemon", forks and spoons will be used by the characters in "Doraemon" instead.

3. American version of Doraemon will not be eating Dorayaki obsessively due to a local law in the US which banned the depiction of gluttony on TV.

4. Japanese yen in the animated series will be replaced by American dollars.

5. Nobita's dad will not be sleeping on a tatami bed in the American version.
