HeHeHunter,

Thanks for your reply.  smile.gif

If we use UOB Payonline, the merchant has to absorb the cost of us using the credit card, and also the cost of UOB Payonline being used, right?

Ok, as long we customers get our bills paid in the amount stated in the bill, we are okay with it.  smile.gif

Yes. That's why some merchants charges extra % when you buy things using credit card. Eg. buying laptop in Lowyat, travel packages from travel agency, etc. But so far no charges from UOB Payonline. Hope it stays that way.

got it today. card was delivered to branch on 4 Aug (according to the delivery acceptance stamp on the bank's book).

No one called me or informed me. The branch manager said HQ would have called me. The customer service said the branch manager would call. The CC dept said the branch will call me. (sad to see PBB's customer service has become so Malaysian-Style)

In the end, I was the one who CALLED to check and picked it up myself.

So that's a total of 3 weeks.

When i applied MBB 2Cards, i got it within 1 hour, with a RM10 complimentary starbucks voucher.

Priceless comment. rclxms.gif

Public Bank Customer Service also tells me that it takes about two weeks to get your application approved, and the card to be delivered to your house or home branch.

How come Maybank can be so efficient in performing eligibility check, CCRIS check and CTOS check within an hour, whereby Public Bank needs 2 weeks? Kudos to Maybank for their speedy approval on credit card. thumbup.gif

Perhaps, Public Bank Card Centre needs to organize 2-week long meetings, with Tan Sri Teh and Public Bank Upper Management, before they can process credit card application for a commoner like me. tongue.gif

Maybank has improved their service by a lot in recent years

Public Card stil has long way to go. My EMV chip got spoil so I got replacement Card and got few options how to activate the card

1) Self Service - via SMS

2) Call in

I normally use Option 1 - got a return SMS that says, TQ for using SMS to activate your Card. It will take 3-working days

I was like rclxub.gif rclxub.gif rclxub.gif

So I called the Number, spoke to a CS and told him what happened

The reply was that SMS Self Service needs 3-days, call in is immediate

Told them do you know how much biz Public loses in 3-biz days? Please fix your SMS activate to be immediate in line with your competitors

Thanks.

Just as other experts here suggested, just call customer service to activate your credit card.

Pretend that Option 1 - SMS activation does not exist in this world. biggrin.gif

same thing with signature also. Even if signature does not match you have to pay if you report the card loss too late.

Visa PayWave has a cap limit for each wave. It cannot be used for large amount transaction.

In fact, with or without signature, there is still a chance for fraud. We just need to be diligent in making sure our card is safe. How many times did you notice the sales staff checks the signature?

I was under the impression if the signature is obviously different, then the responsibility lies with the vendor for failing to check?

if the signature is obviously different, the person who signed under cctv is obviously not you nor your family, and the cc is still in your possession. then you may succeed.

means if you lost your card, you need to call bank(s) to block your card(s) and/or make a police report immediately.
if it's still in your possession but someone managed to swipe it, means that your card has been duplicated.

what a shocking experience (or imagination) you had! kena tied up, somemore naked, lagi at highway pulak tu! sweat.gif

anyway when you make a police report, you will need to mention the time and date you were robbed. so if your cc being used in between the period of you being robbed and making a police report, you can still dispute it, furthermore with your tormenting case. nod.gif

Less imaginative would be kena chop a few times and masuk ICU... also susah make police report. Anyway I wouldnt doubt that no matter in what scenario we are most probably at the mercy of the banks. Consumer protection in Malaysia is near non-existence
