Hi,

Can I buy a wifi enable amplifier connected to my speakers at the front just below the projector screen, a projector with wireless hdmi feature, and I will use my laptop to connect to the projector wirelessly and transmit the audio to my wifi amplifier at the front by wifi wirelessly?

I asked two of our local so-called "expert" but they can't advise me anything useful.

Please enlighten me if you are really an expert.

P.s. wired speakers are not possible in my setup.

Yes there are wireless projectors available at the market, like the Epson, but Unfortunately while that being possible, I however do not have any wireless capable projectors on sale. So your wireless streaming idea from laptop to Projector will not be possible. I only have Optoma ones, which requires a physical HDMI cable.

As for AV Receivers, I have DLNA and Airplay capable Pioneer LX series and Yamaha Aventage series AV Recievers where you'll be abLe to stream from your iOS device or NAS device.

But your idea of video to projector and audio to AV also would not work. The data streams form your movie sources only move in one direction, not two. Only the AV Reciever can split the data into video to HDMI out, and sound to the speaker out. There is no way in hell currently a laptop can do that task. You'll still need to physically connect from your laptop to the AV..

Thanks for your quick reply. What if I connect my source via hdmi cable to a projector (I may put it on a tea table before my sofa), but transmit the audio wirelessly via 5ghz to my speakers that physically connected to the av amp?

Yes, then that's possible. Because your basically using the projector now as an extension of your laptop screen, while audio wise you're also using your AV as an audio outlet. You're not splitting anything or trying to send out two diff streams via your laptop.

HOWEVER, whether AV Recievers can take live wireless streams I will have to check. I would suggest this:

Get the NAD DAC-1 from me. It's basically a streamer DAC, with a USB dongle connected to your PC, and a receiver/DAC unit connected to your AV via RCA. This not only bypasses your Laptops internal DAC and gices better sound, you don't have to worry about setting up DLNa/Airplay or WiFi networks.

Plus the fact its now going for 50% off.

As for DALI, the Rubicon would be arriving soon. Probably in 1-2 months tome or less. I will update the threads when it does.

I have a pair of WHARFEDALE DENTON 80TH ANNIVERSARY LIMITED EDITION, what amp should I invest to get the most out of it? I drive it with my Roger integrated amp, it gets hot very fast, if I turn the volume to half or twelve o'clock, the amp would switch off by itself.

That depends on your laptop sir. The DAC only receives whatever signals your laptop sends. So if it's 5.1 surround then yes it'll happily do the same.
