RM1.5K can still get a diamond ring but the diamond is not certified by GIA. To be GIA certified, the diamond must be at least 0.3 carat which will set you back about RM4K inclusive of casting. the price of diamonds will be based on the 4Cs (Carat, Cut, Clarity and Color).
For RM1.5K, you can settle for gold or white gold with an extremely small and lower quality diamond. IMHO, it will not be impressive.
Since you wanna go simple, just get a band will do.

QUOTE(hydroboy87 @ May 8 2014, 02:29 PM) yeah been considering normal platinum or bands at the moment...it is quite difficult to decide and choose haha try to get a design that she likes. remember to get her ring size too. for me personally, i don't like my ring to be cut and altered. i worried the workmanship will not be good.

QUOTE(hydroboy87 @ May 8 2014, 02:37 PM) YES the size..I am so worried it will be wrong size hahahahahaha just bring her to the nearest shop and pretend to look for rings. ask her to try and later calmly ask the retail assistant the size. while she looks at other rings, take note which design she likes. P/S: Don't let her try those expensive ones la... later u buy the cheapo ones, ppl will disappointed.... potong stim only.
