Oh and the glider mix called Slurp. How do I get it? I am already making a mix for them that is said to be the safest and its well rounded.

Consists of:

Apple juice
Carrot juice
Wheat germ
Apple sauce
Yogurt
Oats
Broiled chicken
Wheatgerm

Can anybody tell me if this is ideal? I already bought the ingredients in bulk. So i better not waste it after I busted my wallet for it.

On the contrary, I think ur mix is perfect. Yoghurt is an extremely rich source of calcium - paragraph 6 http://www.pygmypets.com/sg8.htmlApple and carrots are excellent sources for vitamins. However, for the sake of taste, do vary fruits once in a while.

The broiled chicken is more than a sufficent source of protein. But considering it gets boring in taste after a while, u shud try live prey items like pinkies or cicak. Gliders dont tire of them. I've been keeping gliders for about two years now and they never get sick of the taste of blood and flesh.

They love cicaks... dont forget in the wild they naturally prey on any moving thing they can catch.

As for my glider diet here it is:-

3 times a week fruit slices with dog biscuits, sometimes with rasberry/strawberry jam.
3 times a week yoghurt with slices of fruits or dog biscuits.

And once or twice a week live prey.

Regards.

still tame. From my experience, it's a misconception that when u feed anythign with blood to pets they'll revert to their primal nature. Not so - at least in the case of my gliders. And as u can see they don't eat their children just because they eat live prey.

where u get the cicak ek.r u buy it from the shop or u catch it urself?

Catch myself. I have alot of creatures that eat cicak. Most of them snakes. There is a technique to catching them that is much easier than rubber bands.

hmmm...but hans...yogurt calcium content varies by a lot. some expensive ones can go up to 45% but most of what i seen in malaysia, (the sugar & fat free ones) is never more then 12%. so u cant say its extremely rich. thay still need the extra calcium.
as for feeding jam, glider breeders world wide is NOT doing it unless its some suger free stuff, it is hard to get and expensive in malaysia.....sugar is not good at all for gliders. thay cannot handle our sugar. what they need s the natural sweetness from the natural foods.
its just what i have to say from my own observations & what  read. its up to u all to google for what i said. Lolx.
and yes...a pinkie a week keeps the vet away.

I disagree. Surprisingly you quoted google but what i've said has also been partly based on google so u cant say everything from google research is gospel coz different websites say diff things. In the end, what i've adviced is strictly from experience.

First of all u dont judge calcium of yoghurt based on percentage. You judge it in MG per quantity. That is why yoghurt, even if it's 12% already meets the requirements of a glider's diet and even more when u count how many miligrams it has.

I agree that jam is expensive but i didnt recommend it as a daily requirement remember? It's an occasional treat as i said. On the contrary though, jam is rich is calcium and they can handle the sugar, but not everyday.

Personal opinion differs from owner to owner and breeder to breeder. But ur gliders im sure have grown very well and healthy based on ur diet and love. But on the other hand, so have mine based on the diet which i've put up.

While it may seem surprisng since i like snakes but i've actually got a soft spot for gliders. I've been raising mine for two years now and they've given me babies already. So i can safely say the diet i've proposed is not inaccurate if only from the experience of mine and friends close to me.

Regards.

Thanks girls. Will go look for some good pouches. Anybody know how to stop their glider from peeing and pooing in the pouch? Or even me  cry.gif I will like a toilet. Really when Roscoe wants to come out and play he will jump on my hand just to pee first, followed by shitting  mad.gif

That sounds like the glider is nervous. My gliders used to do that in the beginning when i was still in the process of taming them. However, after a while they usually do not do it while on your body, even if u just happen to take them out of the cage. But gliders have diff personalities so im not saying urs is not tame. cool.gif

Now this is a glider i wanna keep.

user posted image
It's about 25 times bigger than a sugar glider and snuggles in your arms like a small terrier. Also critically endangered. Just for anyone who doesnt know, there are 6 species of glider that look completely diff from each other, except for the sugar and squirrel glider which look similiar.

Misa, my gliders don't have twins. It looks like a single baby now that the bump is really big. Sigh... oh well. Glad to see babyboy is doing great! I think it's tamer than my gliders.

Regards

boigamaniac,

I think the moderator will ask you to open a sales thread at the garage sales and refer to uzairi to update the sales list. Better read rules and regulations before posting an intention for sale.

Nice SG anyway. Hope she finds a good home. 1.5 months best time to go new home as stable already.

All I did was just ask that if anyone was interested, then PM me for this baby glider.

I've done this before in the past, as I know many others who do it.
