My other SG also fall from high place before as well as splatting into walls.. also no problem. But GongGong.. dunno what happened. Dun wanna send him to autopsy, just burried the little guy. RIP

Bond? Hrm... not yet la. But I force him out, dun care he crabs or not. But if you wanna try, here's a proven method I've done and within 2 days success.

Go get crazymouse Glider Mix, dip your finger in it. Then put your hand near the glider. At first Chiwek crabs and pounce at my hand, even bite me...you tahan la. Bite already surely can feel the glider mix. Then he will start licking your finger. Do this for 2 days and now whenever he sees my finger he licks them first. NOw I'm going to train him to come out from his pouch into my hand.

Sorry to hear about GongGong. What about the poo? Any soft poo? Maybe digestive system leh..

Anyway I'm now at NIrvana Memorial at KUchai Lama for 2 days (grandpa passed away), luckily they have internet connection there. Anyway Chiwek is here and he is well behaved during ceremony times. But yesterday, when he hears those music, he start crabbing HOpe tonight he is also well behaved.

oh, luring moochi is not a problem for me. all i do is wave a mealworm in front of her and she'll come to me. sometimes i tipu her la, bring near then tarik far, luring her to me. but now she smart, sometimes she quickly grab the poor mealworm with her paw and pluck half the mealworm and eat 1st cunning girl. but she still scared of me patting her. and whenever i lure her to my palm and sit there awhile she'll be ok at first..then later she'll be like "uh-oh, i'm on a hand" and jumps back to her cage

wah u bring chiwek to funeral? swt. my one fear of bringing moochi out in public is that she will run away. she jumps alot

Hahaha... me active in many forums... well, not many lah, only a few that are catered to pet lovers. Hahaha... I have not seen any leng zhais yet loh heheheeh.... some events need to go, mostly just hang out, socialise and support people heheheh..

Ah... your glider really need to take some time hahaha... let him lick everyday lah, I think he will later warm up with you. But good that you managed to touch and rub him without crabbing or biting.

Chiwek behaved well? Good good. So nice to hear that you and Chiwek getting along. Glider bites we must tahan, if we show them pain when they bite, then lagi lah they bite pain pain.

lol. i like what one guy said in a sg caresheet. sgs will have 2 types of bites, one is the defensive bite and another is food test bite. lol. everytime i let moochi lick applesauce from my finger i kena bite T_T

Omigod! I am so sorry for your loss. I don't know how it feels and would not know how to cope if any of my SGs died. So sad.

lol i tried letting him bite also at 1st i was ok but then he bite the same place 3times can u imagine . It kinda hurt so i slowly pull away i havent try tthe yogurt trick yet(i went to carefour and i forget o buy it-_-).i think he apply way to much pressure when bitting me.




i think u better wait and get from crazy_mouse or smellycheese cos u may not be able to tame the sg if its a fierce one.

its a she urm i tried a few times to pat her but she always moves away. unless there is something to lick, she'll stay away from my finger. i guess it takes time for gliders to get used to your hand. what i do is i somehow make moochi climb upside down my hand to eat mealworm or lick applesauce/jam off my finger..let her be comfortable la. once in a while try to pat her. bribing with food seems to be the key

Having trouble feeding my smelly boy la... The only thing I have now to feed him is apples and mealies.

Sugre --> whoa. 88 Pets Mart huh. ;0; damn. i went to irene's aquarium in subang and saw that they placed 20 adult gliders in one misearable tiny cage. they were sitting in their pee and poop. it was a pitiful sight. i'm starting to have a severe dislike for pet stores. i think jabatan haiwan should really check these pet store every couple of months or so to make sure they're not mistreating the animals. : /

yagami15my15 --> yeah, you're definitely right about suggies and them being like babies. when i first got mine, i realized how much care and attention a glider needs. i remember browsing through a lot of websites, doing tons of research with regards to their dietary needs. nah, don't feed them cat food. they don't need it. give them a variety of fruits each week, complimented with a glider mix (like the one from crazymouse_yyh) -- brilliant stuff and the mealworms (i feed mine 6 mealies a day). and the only sg pouches being sold in summit is the one at Zara's Exotic Pet Store. it's rm36 if i'm not mistaken. with regards to mealies, i used to cut the head off for my glider -- because he wasn't interested in mealworms so i had to squeeze a bit of the juice out to get him to want to eat it but now i don't have to do that anymore. he just eats it as it is. everytime i get new mealworms, once a week, i'll feed the worms with a few slices of apples and carrots. this is called gutloading the worms so they'll be more nutritious for your glider to eat. i also keep my mealies in oat bran (2 inches deep). they eat that too. mealies are fattening -- so don't feed the glider with too many mealies a day.

hamster9 --> yay! congrats on getting the male glider from Hun. saw his piccies -- what a handsome fella hehe! my glider uses both the ceramic water bowl and the water bottle. i tried taking either one away and he was severely disastified lol! greedy fella. he likes drinking from the water bottle and then he goes to his water dish and drinks again. funny fella. whoa, i never dare to sleep when my glider's freely jumping around the room because i've read some glider death stories that kinda scared me. one lady slept with her gliders next to her and when she woke up, they were squashed. another guy slept while his glider was playing in the room. later he found the glider under the couch cushion -- squashed. ;0; poor thing.

suiteng --> omg suiteing ;0; i'm so sorry to hear about GongGong. that's the scary thing about SGs though. they hide the fact that they're sick very well and when they die -- it's always unexpected.

Reanne --> he doesn't want to eat? or...? you could try giving him his mealies in the morning and feeding him his fruits and mebbe the glider mix at midnight, leaving it in the cage until the next morning. keep him on a regular schedule and you'll start to see an improvement. dice the fruits up, it might help.

Misa: Yeah I was so angry with that 88 Pets Mart! Absolutely saddening! I can't believe that a pet shop could open mistreat its animals like that. All those SGs were so miserable. And I am very sure no one will buy them seeing as they are wild and very fierce and sadly disfigured.

Yagami: Yes I do feed them mealworms. About 4 a day each. Also I never had to cut their heads off to lure my SGs to eat them. They immediately made a grab for the mealies and gobbled it up! Also yes they do bite me...when they are irritated. But its more the female actually. She likes to gives small nips when she is agitated. Now when she nips me I rub at her head and say "no" many times.

Wah so manja them. I straight whack them and say no. They get the idea.

What to do? Since now he is in the bonding process. But then he starts to get really active during those "namo-namo" prayers Luckily din escape. Hope he doesn't do it tonight again or else i have to keep it in the box

But damn it, over here have internet access and really like 5 star hotel (for the dead)

Getting along well when it comes to food and bribing. Hope he gets the hang of me later. My body is full of scratches now and itchy. I really need to cut his nails once I start to bond to him. Now he is really bonded to the pouch. This morning when I wanna get him out from the cage, he just hop into the pouch and we are ready to go

Yah I know what you mean! Roscoe drags his balls all across the bars on the cage. I am only scared that he loses it because it is held by a very thin piece of skin.

Actually a few months back I thought there was something wrong with him as there was at times sticking out of his butt! I saw it so many times, I brought him downstairs to look at it. I thought he had diarrhea and that it was some poo and I actually wanted to get tweezers to pull it out of use scissors to cut it off! It was only after reading up on the internet I realised it was his thingy! And I nearly made him a eunuch.

You are not the only one. There were many people who actually tried to pull those thingys off coz they look so weird. haha..... I saw that on some SG forum
