QUOTE(Reanne @ Oct 13 2006, 11:40 PM) Fly fly thing? Ermm... Cleaning the cage often I guess. Pickles' cage always shink after 2 days but it never attracts the fly fly things. Use bedding that can absord well, may help. I used woody pet and it took longer to smell, about a week then got smell. yalor...having drove back all the way from singapore...hav to clean the cage daily..n mop the floor...alamak....lazy n working pipol out there...think twice if u wanna keep glider... lets say I wipe some ant poison at the cage's 4 base leg...will tht affect the glider ? erm...the glider hav no contact with the poison..but I scared the bau will affect them leh

QUOTE(Reanne @ Oct 13 2006, 11:54 PM) LOL Use vaseline la. Smear it in a line across the sides at the base of the cage, ants will not cross but you would need to smear again over it once a week to be sure it doesn't have any smudges that will allow ants to cross. vaseline is wht har ? u mean those insect magic chalk arr ? erm...little nugget here need to buy glider mix...any 1 wanna do buiness ? but u hav to send via currier serv to jb...$ vil be bank in before hand lar off course...

QUOTE(misa @ Oct 14 2006, 12:31 AM) You can give the cage bars a good wipedown with baby wipes. That's what I do. Also, when the gliders are in the pouch with you -- try sunning the cage la and the branches and the coconut shell. You can do this once a week. Give the cage a thorough cleaning. And sun everything. Did you put any cloth in the coconut shell? Best to do that la -- some gliders don't pee in the coconut cage cause if there's a cloth there, they sleep in it - for some if they pee in it, at least it gets absorbed by the cloth and u can wash it out and it won't seep into the coconut shell. Make sure you take out the cloth everyday and check la -- if they pee in it then change the cloth. No la hehe that's not my cage. But I'd love to allow my glider to play in that sort of cage. Looks like fun! I tried b4 by putting tissue paper...they kick it out...or they will like burrow it self under the tissue paper...i only can sun n wash +sanitize evrything once per week...enuff arr ?lucky my housemate...giv some face to me...coz I keep them indoor...tt day put outside...stray cat sit ontop of the cage...waiting for dinner...lau ehh...tht cat...kena hot water from me...

QUOTE(misa @ Oct 14 2006, 12:42 AM) Try cutting out one of your old t-shirts la -- and put that in the coconut shell. It'll help with the bonding process too as they'll be able to smell you. Also, put the shirt in their pouch as well. Yup, once a week -- thorough cleaning is enough already. But clean out the food bowl and water bottle/water dish everyday and the newspaper bedding la. And you can give the cage bars a good wipedown with the babywipes if you see it's dirty. That takes less than 5 minutes. ...you mean somedays -- they are placed outside of the house? And what? You threw hot water on the cat? I mean previously I place their cage outside at the porch...coz I m living with housemates...the cat if not kena hot water....my glider life ar ein danger...its cruel to do so...but it will mean tht perticular cat know tht this glider cage cannot mess around...no choice lar...my glider life are at stake....

QUOTE(misa @ Oct 19 2006, 09:59 PM) Hehe the bonding process takes time. They'll grow closer to you as each day passes on la. Have they started hanging about on your shoulder and stuff? A good way to speed up the bonding process is to use a tent. Get one of those pop up tents or something and spend some time with the glider in it. Let it crawl on you and you can even hang some rope or toys for it to play with in the tent. The good thing about using a tent is that you don't have to worry about them escaping and you can sort of just relax a bit la hehe I tried n he climb out from the coconut shell n on my palm 4 2 second b4 he "splat" to the wall...aftertht police after thief session...with the owner chasing a glider using coconut shell....haha...maybe it need some more time..tht just 1 imagine...4 glider...gosh...so for all glider wannabe owner..learn from this silly nugget...do not think keeping glider is a easy thing...haha
