Ai, got problem that can't get out of... so... ai... cacat timing LOL.

Yah, from your pics, looks like Kiah's size back then.... anyway, kinda easy to take care if you provide them with lots of warmth and attention. Kiah slept in a make-shift incubator for the first 2 weeks during the night. She had a tank with a lid, a warm red light an a cup with tissue to sleep in. Had to check the temp to make sure its not too hot or too cool... anyway, joeys need to eat more regularly.... feed about 3 meals a day.... Kiah normally had 1ml of milk in the morning plus a teaspoon of mix... then afternoon she gets a few mealworms with another 1ml of milk... then at night she gets 2ml of milk and 1 teaspoon of mix. Always keep young joeys in a pouch with you all the time...

hello i need help here..is there got any different between captive breed SG  & wild caught ...coz i got 5 here 4 male n 1 female..i thought gonna to sell it..
*
You know.... males cannot live together if you have a female with them. They will fight. Males won't fight and can get along if they have never seen or smelt a female glider before but once you intro a female to them, they can fight quite badly.

There is a difference between WC and CB gliders... but it depends on the breeder.

WC will less likely become tame and they do not make good pets.

CB, got 2 different kinds....

A homebreeder - He or she will take good care and tames the gliders, making them great pets and are very socialble with humans.

A supplier breeder- He or she will breed for the sake of the pet trade, never touching the parent gliders nor the joey till it reaches the right age to be seperated from the parents. Now, these joeys are not tame but they can be tamed since they are joeys and not adults. If CB joey is left without any human interaction, it would act and be like a Wild glider....

Enough info for you? For selling part.... do it in garage sales yah, not here.

wild? u have wild? cool.....

anyway erm.... Hun... chibi is always held at hand even when we sleep. She is thus bonded to us very much. And she feeds like every 2 hours...on milk and baby food. So far so good...but googal likes to play a lot which worries me...she doesn't wanna sleep.
*
Hahah... then Chibi should be ok lah since she is so close to you. Milk is a must for gliders that young to get the proper fats and calcium hehheh...

Yah, joeys that age sleeps alot. Playful, nevermind lah... keep on playing till tired. When Kiah became tired from play, she would climb up to sleep either on my neck or inside my shirt.... well, she still does that now tongue.gif

thx for the info..actually i juz bought this glider..i dont know either its WC or CB..but i see they all 5 get along..i put it in same cage n they do not fight..n 1 info i bought 5 for RM850..so cheap le but it abit hard to tame..
*
Wah.... that is cheap... but are they adults or joeys? Too many gliders is hard to tame. If you want to tame them, you have to seperate them into pairs and slowly bond with each pair.... that is gonna be really hard. This is why we only have the most, 1 pair so we can easily tame and bond.

oo glider can live for how long..n wat age is best for *selling purposes* coz if my glider is abit old imma let it breed like 4 pair...
*
Gliders can live 10 to 15 years lah.... wah... you never read up on them?

The best age to sell off is about 3 months out of pouch.

I think you have adults... and yah, very hard or unlikely to tame them if you do not take the time and effort to bond with them.

Erm.... breed them for sales? gliders only breed twice a year only.... and is a long process and needs special diet and care for breeding... best you read up lah.

ya i juz now learning for SG..b4 this i only know breed hamster/rabbit/fish only..
*
Males will have a bald spot(botak).. then it means it is adult already.

Yes, gliders need large cages so yah, need to spend money lah.

Gliders can readily breed at the age of 8 months old.... they are different from hamsters and rabbits lah.... breeding would need hideboxes, good supply of proper food. Their diet cannot have any seeds or nuts coz it can cause blockage in the gut.

Dogfood can be given but only when it is soaked and should not contain garlic(most dogfood contain garlic). Hard dry dogfood that has not been soaked can cause a disease known as lumpy jaw.

There should be a variety of fruits in the diet, not just apples.

Also 25% of their diet should be insects.... should be feeding crickets and mealworms.

i suggest u not to breed as there are complications coming if u are doing so...it may kill the glider and also the baby without fundamental knowledge of rearing a glider. It is not as simple as breeding hamster or rabbit as they are from the different Order of the animal kingdom thus requires full attention towards it.

And also you may risk losing your adult gliders as well  nod.gif  as they are cannibal towards their own kind  wink.gif
*
I agree totally to this thumbup.gif

gliders should not be seen as breeding machines lah.... they do need extra care and research... really different animals from rodents....

lol..but now they all 5 is in same cage n they dont even fight..i thk mostly they only sleep...if about taming them i got no problem i thk..coz in my house i live with 2 more family n they love pets..they also help me take care off my SW fish when i working..so maybe taming wont have a prob..but i still dont know how to diff them if it still joey or adults.
*
if you take as a pet, you should have have 5 but only a pair.... really.... other families helping you tame is not an option. Should not be greedy also mah no matter how cheap 5 gliders come about.

The thing we like to see is glider bonding with it's OWNER. Not other people.... you must know these animals are social. Also we shouldn't take them as breeding machines for extra cash. Breed as a hobby? Fine lah but just stick to 1 pair.... it is painful to see gliders being bred and sold without proper care and information. All coz people get the adults cheaply.

I still think your gliders could be adults since so cheap.... and they can live 15 years.... very long lived animals.... and males have very strong smell.... 1 male already make 1 room stink a bit... but more? I guess people would start to complain. Also the cages should be 3ft high.... a proper cage....

you don't see them fight now coz day time.... at night while you are asleep maybe they fight? Anyway.... it is really best to only have 1 pair. Read up not only from this forum but websites. All would say never house adult males together if have a female around....

i'm not gonna make them breeding machine..i juz wanna tame them..last time i also can tame WC mantis/scorpion/T/ferret..but since now i work at daytime can only play at night time..n need spend to time at my fish too...*can u tell me pls how to see if they adult or joeys pls*
*
Told you... look at the male... botak head means adult lah. And possible all are the same age since you bought them together.

If you wanna tame... just keep 1 pair lah. Really easier... 5 to tame is very hard. Even majority of websites said never tame more than 1 pair to tame....

Bonding and taming gliders is different from mantis and scorps and Ts lah.... those no emotional feelings like gliders.... I know coz I also have those... and they are tame but they do not bond. You must understand why we get gliders.

Gliders are like little children in an animal's body. They require special diets and special care....

Read all you can lah. That's the best to start.... the 1st page got lots of basic information already. Anyway, if you seperate, make sure your room mate also take effort to bond with them lah. Then sure you and your room mate will enjoy the company of gliders.

Gliders can be adorable and make us want to cuddle and kiss them... but aiyoh, some can be a little annoying hahhaah... like my Kiah.... but this is coz they got the personality of a child... and children can be adorable and annoying too eheheh....

dont worry here we also we got 2 persianmix cat dunno breed its a fluffy type cat...but i afraid if they tame n want to let they round in the house the cat might catch its  hmm.gif better i thk let they stay in cage for now..coz the cat now when see through my fish tank also havent blink in the eyes..maybe they say nyam nyam if can eat nemo..
*
Ohhh... cats ah... better not loh LOL.... even dogs also can chase and kill a glider... but so far my glider and my dog are best friends.

Yes, it is best to cage them for safety lah but then you still have to let the gliders have some freedom after you bonded. For you now... if they have never had human interaction before, you must bond using pouch method.... zip them in a glider safe pouch and hang on your neck. Coz if you hold it, I think it may bite you and if it gets out of your hand, you will have 100% havoc at trying to catch it back. So bond first. Hand tame by hand feeding and once the gliders learn to know you and trust you, only let them out of the cage once a while to excercise and play.

Crabbing is normal. You must hold it to make it get used to your hand. Coz everytime it crabs and you do not touch it, the glider will learn that crabbing makes you go away. Now you must teach it that no matter how she crab, you are not afraid.

Yes, any fruit based babyfood can be given. So far I find Heinz better than Gerber.... as in colour and taste.... Gerber's mango is damn funny.... weird taste.

She pees on me and poos where she wants.... plays with me and washes my ear.... chews my toes and groom my hair... tackles my dog and bullies my hamster.... er... I got a naughty glider LOL.

Last night Pickles jumped into one of my syrian tanks and stole a peanut. He sat there eating the peanut next to the bowl and the 3 syrians surrounded him and didnt know what the heck to do. Pickles looked at them, then continued to munch on his stolen nut.

It was a funny sight.

Hahaha.... similar to what Kiah would do.... my WW would just sit next to Kiah and stare at the way she eats up her pellets....
