i checked with superbuy online support and was told that shipment will start tomorrow, and tracking ID will be given tomorrow as well. dunno la whether to believe or not. hopefully they won't try to deliver during the weekend because i will be at my kampung!

just got my phone after it being stranded at poslaju

first impression:
nice screen
nice design
UI is snappy
build seems solid
back cover is kinda cheap-plastic-ish looking
back camera is a hit-and-miss (only tried under incandescent lighting. the yellow light seems washed off)
surprisingly light for a 5-inch phone.

possible deal breaker: capacitative buttons under the screen are not backlighted (odd since even Huawei Y300 which is entry level has backlighted buttons)

not bad at all for a RM499 phone. definitely can use this as daily phone.

help needed!

rooted the phone but vRoot installed on phone is in Chinese and it also installed another program also in Chinese. can i uninstalled both of these and replaced with maybe Superuser instead?

I tried double tapping the screen to wake up the phone but it doesn't work. why?! (this phone got this feature right?)

I must say apart from the lack of apps drawer, this emotionui is quite good. I like how you can restrict notifications and what apps to let run in the background.

1. Tried to root using vRoot (Chinese version) - successful
2. Found an English version of vRoot, tried to update - not successful, lost root
3. Factory reset - vRoot still in the phone, phone still unrooted, can't re-root.
4. Tried to load the stock rom from the first post - phone booted up fine, everything was working except that it was a China Unicom rom and could not detect my Maxis SIM anymore.
5. Finally gave up and sent my phone to the authorised service centre, SEMS, in Penang. Followed up with them after 3 days and they said they have ordered a new motherboard for my phone. ETA 7 working days.

Will be really careful once I get my phone back. biggrin.gif

i use swiftkey keyboard and the same problem happens. under swiftkey setting i had to increase the vibration time to 25ms from default 10ms. not sure about swype tho.

factory reset, update to B108 then vroot? I used Chinese version of vroot and managed to root the phone. only annoyance is that my root request is in Chinese but other than that it works.

for those who want to try the phone in person, can go to midvalley to huawei's booth on the ground floor. i was there around lunchtime and sales guy told me i'm lucky because i bought it online for 499, lol!
