if you like a girl, do you go for her sister ?

only prb with acoustics is a lot of people go cheap on them so they buy the cheapest shittiest gutiar on the block that is hard to play.

then tell the whole universe that acoustics are hard

FUUUUU
I thought guitar are all the same?
Cheap guitar are harder to learn as compare to the pricey ones?
Again, can I go straight to electric guitar and skip the acoustic ones?
I already got an acoustic at home.

Why not start with an acoustic?
I started with one, 21 fret.

And if you're starting to learn how to play one,
Never EVER skip the basics.
NEVER.

.. I've felt the consequences.

Beginners might give up easily if they started with acoustics coz the string is too hard.

It's always better for beginners to begin with electric guitars.

So how much should I budget for a good electric guitar so that I can play like David Gilmour or the dude in the gun n roses video?

well if they are all the same then no one will pay for expensive guitars.

technically, yea cheaper guitars both eletrics and acoustics tend to have rather basic workmanship also the distance bewtween the strings and the fret can be rather high, expensive ones you can put it very low etc etc.

you are not skipping anything , they are both guitars but the way its approached is diff.

Might be, but if they gave up easily,
then might as well just forget it.
They ain't getting anywhere without efforts and persistence.
