1 of all, to those who troll in other threads, will be the ones that fall flat in the face. This applies to our own fans as well....dont see the need to troll..yet..not until the title is in hand...having said this, the attack from others have been relentless, not that i care, because we have a manager who is relentless too, and probably they are scared of us....looking forward to next season of relentless attack and stylish football - and if...we play the same way and get 2nd next season, i'd still take it!!!

Having seen the highlite..i'd say nothing much can be done with the 1st goal from palace...it was a shot from back lift and little momentum - and went in albeit with an unlucky touch from Johnson..the same type of shot that Sturij hit the crossbar..ball on the ground and power generated from backlift..the horror show came from the 2nd and 3rd goal...and unfortunately both CD can be held accountable....

Overall, it was an entertaining game for the neutrals, dissapointing for the fans and satisfying for assholes....

Am quite sure there is a tinge of sadness and regret with the title so damn near but seem unlikely now....still, we kept CT on their toes until the last match of the season...but not bad for a team that spent so little....and having said this, I am sure next season transfer will bring back the bragging rights of who sign who for how much..

Its been at least 2 seasons I haven't look forward to transfer, not since we were out of the CL. With the transfer window barely open, we are linked with a few names, notably lallana, Caulkner, cole, which brings to question..can we get bigger names that these?? Not that I mind any of these players, but when was the last time BR ever get jaw-dropping signings....none....if I may put it, Sturij and Coutinho are considered 'sleeper' hit....how about having a go at bigger names for 14/15...how about Koke, Rakitic, Marco Reus and Firmino..players you know is going to cost a limb but with higher assist than Suso..not that Suso is doing too badly in asssit, but no goals to show....

I think BR owe us and himself a BIG signing...and looking forward to us making a statement next season, that we are not 1 season wonder....reinforcements are needed in all areas of defense, midfield and attack...not that theres anything wrong with SAS, just felt that Suarez needed some form of rotation next season, he cant possibly play in every league, cups and CL matches....

As for Newcastle game tomolo, the team know what is expected, and if we can get a goal feast, then its a bonus...and I don't think CT will have it easy at Westham..afterall Carroll have great record scoring against them...and I don't think CT can keep him quiet for 90 mins...just hope that Downing and Cole can conjure something for us...especially downing, who seem to hit form lately....it wont be easy, come on Hammers, let's make history

Even if there is going to be 'big' signing, they wont be going around advertsing their intentions.
Take all those names with a pinch of salt.
Problem with all these biggies, do they want to join us? Like it or not, life is short. No one especially top foreign players would want to be in a building phase.

i expect twist tonight.  Big Andy wants to be on the plane to Rio.
*
Bro...why wouldnt anyone want to join us...we r Liverpool...we are good enough to b in the G14, which consist of cluster of great clubs - Manu, Arsenal being the others, not to mention RM, Barca, Valencia, BM, Dortmund....we still in building phase? I dont think so..with a few top class reinforcement, we shuld b competitive in the CL next season....with more games, its inevitable there will be more injuries..we cant be heading into next season without able stand-in for Suarez, Sturij, Hendo and a strong set of defenders - as such, dun really agree to letgo of Agger....as much as i like Sterling, who is still a pony, am not too sure whther he should play week in and out....

With Westham, anything is possible...they dont have the pressure to stay up as they r safe, but with at least 4 players somehow associated to Liverpool, I am damn sure, they will take things into their hands, Nolan is afterall an open liverpool supporter....all 4 will be on a mission - Carroll, Downing, Cole and Nolan....+ Matt taylor....i'd be nervous if i m CT fan...... sweat.gif

Looking at our squad, we definitely have the required experience to play in the CL...i mean most of the 1st eleven are players during Rafa's time, Lucas, SG, Skrtle, Agger, Johnson - SSS is good enuf for any team in CL....so it does make sense for BR to say he only need 2-3 world class players to enhance the squad. Is Borini good enough for back-up, only time will tell, I have a feeling BR might off load if the price is right...

As for transfer budget, i think BR should afford more than 60million...bearing in mind, CL already worth potentially 30 million + increased in TV monies + carry forward budget from missing Mikthryan, Willian and Salah....granted we not going to get all 3 of them, not to mention commercial deals and being 2nd in the league....again the last thing i want is to harp on our potential big transfer kitty...we afterall is not in the rich list...having said this, i'd still go for Konoplyanka, as i like what i have seen from him....he is afterall a left sided attacker, which we genuinely lack...perhaps the fullback need a bit touch up, and also a top top replacement in the midfield, and the last thing we need is another 40 million Ozil-type signing...

First stop Arse vs Hull....a purveyor of good attacking football, my money is on the gooners...and since Hull is already assured of Europa league, at the expense of Man u R shit...everything work out nicely cept us being the bridesmaid to MC.....

Soon will be time of the year where we'll be link with few dozens of players...and I must agree, we need to different type of striker. Based on current profile, Suarez, Sturij, Borini and Aspas...they kinda same in style and physique....I wonder if BR is too obsessed with the same profile of being interchangeable and can operate across the pitch...granted we need more physical ball player, the oft-quoted Dzeko...but I don't think CT will offload their dangerman to us, even if he doesn't figure in their plan..thats a big IF.....cavani is going to cost an island, and moan is going to cry over-my-dead-body if we bid for lukaku....the nearest profile of a tall striker with good physique is actually lewandowski....prolific and skillful...but is already BM-bound....

Perhaps BR should take a good look at the Dutch players, eventho the impression left by Wolfwinkel and Luuk De jong is forgettable, but there might be a gem in Narsingh but he is not call-up for the final squad for a reason...and I wonder when will the dutch produce another Van Basten..Gullit, Bergkamp...tall, skillful, and solid players..having said this, am quite sure Van Gaal will be looking at dutch players if he sign for manoo....

As for lalana....if its 25mill, I'd say we walk....we have enuf English in our squad for homegrown....and I suspect tom ince will be link again as always....I'd say time for some latin and Asian players, lets see what WC bring us

Thanks but no thanks, but who can deny Hodgson's WC team will be based on Liverpool's highly successful attacking template...I see at least 4-5 players being starters in Brazil - SG, Sturij, Sterling, Hendo and possibly Johnson.... I dread it if England have a good run in the WC - then the players will return jaded, tired and off form for the new season - the further England go into WC, the worse it is going to be for the players....it happened to Spain, Holland and Brazil...all their players either affected or out of form after a good world & european cup...if this is the scenario, I would say we need at least another 4-5 key players who culd fit in straight away and if we include returning players such as Borini, Suso, Wisdom, Coady, Assaidi - we immediately have enough depth...Am not saying that all of them will be kept by BR....I think at least 3 players will be let go, and only BR will know who's who....

Having read about Lovren being linked to us, and Agger away, I am surprise that some would rather go for the former, whom i felt had a good season, but still have not proven anything. I would stick with Agger, as i would with Skrtle and Sakho...yes, we did have a leaky defense, but essentially, this season is about learning curve as well, our team learned about what it takes to mount a sustain interest all the way until April...eventho we did falter a bit towards the end,, but it showed the character of the team, the resilient against big and more extravagant team. I think the overall value of the team increase, as what's reflected in the league table, now is about reinforcement...rather than replacement, this is how i felt

Rodger don't buy brit for brit sake...anyway, I don't agree that KK did a major mistake by signing british....the mistakes are with the players - downing, adam and carroll are having shitty season with their respective clubs, they fail to seize the opportunity - that's why they are out of running for WC...where else Hendo seize his chances with both hand and feet...

Remember the players we missed earlier - Mikhthryan, Willian, and Salah, konoplyanka - none of them Brits - but all skillful....the profile BR is looking for are skill on the ball, great 1st touch, quick, pacey and intelligent...its a template for his style of play - if a player fit the template - whether hes brit, Italian, Spanish, dutch or whatever, its doesn't matter...in a way, its understandable that Bony could demand a reasonable fee - he is joint 4th top scorer - hardly injured, and can play as lone striker - if he is avail for 12-13 million I think is not bad, considering not many can play as lone striker....he is quicker than Demba ba and more assured in finishing....not drumming up Bony, but he seem to fit the plan whenever we play with 1 upfront...and I personally think that Suarez need to heed advise to tone down on the number of matches he play...its taking a toll on him now, by getting injured, wish he can recover in time for group matches...

I wouldn't want to be in Pochettino's shoe to be frank. He had a hell lot to do at spurs...if i may hatch a guess..lallana is the last person they'd be looking at...as they seemingly have abundance of wasted talent in midfield.

Plus, they have 100million stuck in either deadwood or non fitting players...to clear them off would be a double edge sword, i mean would you sell dembele, paulinho, sigurdson, eriksen to PL rivals?? Just to add to the migraine-inducing dilemma - what to do with Chadli, Lamela, Townsend (the half season wonder), Lennon and Capoue....yes talk about hoarders - spurs surely fit the category... That is already a headache..not to mention the lack of prolific strikers..or how about -offloading Soldado, the penalty specialist

I'd be surprise if spurs open the check book for another 30million - 40 million to spent on players...of course they can sell abroad, its an option, but will there be any takers, or without incurring too much losses, which i highly doubt....its a real mess, and unless he can pull it off with existing players, i dont see Spurs having too much of an ammunition to compete for 'more' players...

Furthermore, with troublemaker such as adebayor, its a real delicate situation for pochettino. Comparatively, BR didnt face much problematic players during his 1st season, which i think helped an awful lot....at least he culd implement his concept and style of play, while imposing his ethics and culture on the team...

Kinda sad if the rumor about Suso being part of the cash+player deal. Honestly I don't think he can command 1st team, but he is a talent and most important, he have the club at heart....again I could be wrong, as I rated sinama pongolle too. I guess decision was made based on what BR really needed - challenger for 1st teamer - established players who can get into the team at go...unfortunately Suso is not in that category....if you take into consideration ibe, sterling, texeira, there really isn't much space for up-and-coming players....but lets hope it remains a rumor, even Liverpool echo might not be accurate...

Just check on top 10 most powerful football clubs in the world - and if nobody knows about this - we just jumped up to 8th above PSG and BD.. the club is now valued @ 460million from 360million in 2013....cant imagine if we nicked the title, we'd be soaring...but there is still some catching up on Manu....we are rated AAA-, not sure what's that A's all about, but I guess its probably credit rating...I am not saying everything is rosy now, but the future looks bright...which brings me to how I feel next year is going to be crucial - in terms of the personnel...BR is definitely on a mission to prove he is no fluke, and that we are not 1 season wonder - as some clubs associated with 'shit' suggest - and to be frank, I am not convince that lalana is world class...even if we did sign him, I'd still have cold sweat....maybe becos of the saying, once bitten twice shy when it comes to british players....having said this, I wouldn't mind Lavezzi, Shaqiri and even lucas moura, although young, he is stuck in PSG and is a Brazilian....if he can be as good as coutinho, we effectively add more Brazilian flair to our attacking play, not to mention stylish attacking play ala samba....yadda I am taking things too far...but my point is lalana is the last option I would think about for attacking prowess...

There are bound to be hoo-haa over Rickie Lambert's fee, which at 4 million can be considered overpriced or a bargain depending on which perspective you stand. It is worth noting that Lamberts is valued at 5 million before we got him for 4 million or 4.5 million depending on source....Granted his age is at 32 - and as in age-performance value curve, as a player aged, the value seem to drop eventho the player still performs well....same case in Etoo and Villa - they can still get goals, but you'd be paying easily 100,000 wages for Etoo, while Villa still cost in excess of 9 million..which makes Lambert transfer a bargain....Plus we got a true Red, a players who you'd feel play for the shirt, and the meaning behind the Liverbird logo. To back Lambert's case further, his scoring and assist not only reinforce his creds, but there is a possibility of Lambert being fit into the centre of our diamond formation. He could possibly be thrust into attacking forward role flank by Sturij and Suarez....Yes..i mean he culd be a slightly younger alternative to SG....and from BR, I got the impression that Lambert takes good care of his body...which means, he could easily play on till 34-35....And if I take into consideration how much Manu paid for Ted Sheringham..@ 31 yo - 3.5 million - back then, could easily mean 5-6 million, then why is 4 million for lambert not a bargain?

All in all Lambert is an established England international, a talisman at Soton, a goal scorer and creator, plus we are getting a Reds through and through....all at 4 million - the risk is minude to say the least....even if he flopped, the amount could be written off - just like Assaidi, who cost no more than 5 million, doesn't really impact our bottom line tbh......mind you, Assaidi is not complete flop...Not stating a case for Lambert or justifying his transfer, as for me, it is still a shock transfer for me, but after the dust settle down, you'd think that this piece of business actually make sense - knowing our strikeforce had just been reinforced for the coming season....

To play winger, one has to possess skills, technique, crossing, and most important, the physique...English wingers generally deteriorate over time...I remember Downing literally explode into the scene, tearing down the left flanks at will with speed, and penetration...and now look what happened to him while at liverpool...lack penetration, lack will to attack the line, lack crossing, lack invention - basically lack everything expected of a winger...unlike the Dutch, who consistently produce top wingers - the likes of Overmars...Robben - they are generally smaller physique - low centre of gravity, possess short burst of pace...consistent crosses and most important, ability to cut in, and not afraid to take a shot from outside..of the players we have who fit the bill is Sterling....quick,pacey and penetrative...if i may, Shaqiri is another potentially great winger...as such, I dont really buy Adam Johnson, who culd end up being another Downing....i wonder where is eljiro elia now....all in all good wingers is not easy to find..let alone to get 1....

Having said this, I do wish we get Moreno...cos if Real madrid and chelsea being linked to him, i guess he could worth his salt...furthermore left wing is out achilees heel since Enrique got injured..by gettting moreno, i foresee we are able to spread the field wider, and provides another channel to attack, especially when certain teams park the bus...having said this, I do feel that if moreno joins us..culd possibly signal the end of konoplyanka's deal....unless BR decides to strenghten the left side of our squad..which actually make sense, given Hendo was asked to play and cover on the left, a few times during last season....i guess getting left channel players isnt a bad idea...afterall we are in the CL...to put an old and young right back into makeshift left back position is no longer acceptable - Johnson and Flanno....expect BR to strenghten overall of the team, while adding 1 or 2 star players of his own....

The Dutch played a classic way to counter tiki taka football:

1) Pack the midfield
2) Unsettle their pivot players
3) Narrow the field to limit movement
4) High pressing and hustling

Its a textbook soccernet guide to counter Spain style of play, and LVG followed with a tee....Spain is not help with aging players, and the lack of firepower is definitely a concern. From the look of it, Costa is quite ordinary playing as lone striker, at best he is a nuisance to defense, not much of a threat...well good luck moaninho...if he think Costa is the answer, lets just say he will have a lot to prove....Where Spain stuttered, I tot the Dutch rise to the occasion....energetic and dynamic midfield, and why why we missed out Robben..what a gem of a player - his pace, control and penetration is superb after all these years... I tot Sterling displayed a bit like Robben, lets hope he developed into a Robben-like player, minus the injuries of course....Overall one of the best match this Spain vs Holland

Its plain to see that the saints is trying to sucker us into paying 30 million for lallana?? I wonder what kinda cow dung they sniffing there - i bet they are high on something, if not demand....With that kind of money we have more options even after WC...Sort of reminds me of ashley william, where swansea asked for 20 million last season, look again now, he is not more than 8 million...over inflated by at least 120%....and this applies to lallana as well...he is worth at max at 18mill, after which the law of marginal return applies, and his value will depreciate from there....I'd say move on BR....

Having said this, i am not convince either with Shaqiri...i have seen him played,, and he did look dangerous at times...but he need room to move and manouevre...not the type that thrives in limited space, from my observation from the match where Swiss VS Ecuador....i tot Enner Valencia stood out in that match..again its just 1 match. So far, this WC actually highlights potential talents from that of Algeria, Costa Rica and Ecuador...So much so that the Belgian looked mediocre, with most of they 'star players either displayed poor 1st touch', lack arrogance on the ball and lack penetration, altho the young striker Origi is quite promising....Sure hope BR can unearth a hidden gem or two post-WC..but fingers cross - no Diouf, and certainly no Diao....

There was one comment the other day, saying something about FM pc game reflects closely to actual soccer, and for me, i quietly agree...sometimes the game is quite accurate such as in the case of wonderkids, up and coming players, skill and attributes, and sometimes can be scoreline, which can be creepy but it really happened when i was playing the game.

Of course, FM is still a game, but in reality i also found that players who had a good tournament for the country can return to their clubs in shitty form as the season gets underway....In this case, could this be a blessing that England take their showers early...and the bulk of our players coming back, well rested and ready for next season's title assault? And if so, could Suarez return next season terribly off-form and couldnt buy a goal...well this is the sort of conundrum that we Reds will face as the season gets underway but by far, England is as bad as the previous tournaments - players are generally over-hype, over-rated and over-price....

I personally dont believe that a player is above the club, or no player is irreplaceable...but if i draw my own hypothetical scenario: Barcelona - Messi - biting opposition not once but twice...i dont think they will sell....and even CR @ RM...Am not defending Suarez for his antic, but in my personal opinion he is more nuts, crazy, stupid even...but not despicable or disgraceful. His madcap tendency to bite might be more psychological, maybe part eccentricity, and part insanity...but like it or not, we cant sell if we are serious about an assault for the title next season, unless, we are willing and prepared to lower down expectation for the coming season. At the end of the day, if he delivers next season and we got our title, all will be forgotten, is it not??

...having said this...i wuldnt mind if we take a good look at enner valencia of ecuador...or divock origi of belgium...both shown great ability and potential...
