promising young player but might need to control his aggression, 13 yellow and 1 red for Bayern last season.

I think, may be Rodgers forte? I suppose willing to gamble? Worth the risk, or maybe if he wasn't temperamental, his fee might be 3X?

Sturridge's temperament wasn't bad, but probably lacked focus and opportunity. He's is turning out ok under BR

Suarez temperament was all over, looks like it was pretty one way (generally good) in the recent concluded season

Steerling, often said as an uncut diamond, seems the most likely improved youngster from the academy. Perhaps a wonder goal in the World Cup (remember Owen?) will escalate his profile to stratosphere at the worlds stage ?

I think there will still be part of us that will have an amount to British players. I think Rodgers will mix it up with foreign talent. I think Robbie fowler did explain why we went British (during KK)

Andrey Stetsenko, Dnipro’s sporting director who is in charge of transfers, accepts that Konoplyanka could leave the club, with United moving ahead of Liverpool as the Merseyside club have not been in contact since January.

Patience

This ancelloti's RM is getting solid. Of course there will be some who will say its mourino's (assembled) team sweat.gif

Congrats Mardrid. It is the next galatico squad (after zidane led the last time). What joy it must be for them, and bale vindicated his move by snapping and all important goal too.

A worthy mention to atletico madrid, hope the keep their team intact & build on the success at la liga. Good work by Diego Simone on his team

I will be disappointed if Suso is going the other way.  sad.gif

I rated Suso highly and think and had what it take to be a Liverpool Star

As far as I can remember, anyone sent on loan are eventually sold.

Yeah and Coutinho isn't a consistent player. The same can be said of Remy. Lambert on the other hand has been consistent and a very very good team player. Definitely gives us something different off the bench. Depth is what we need. 4m for a backup striker whose love for the club wouldn't mind sitting playing second fiddle to Sturridge and Suarez. Doubt Remy can do the same and not complain.

so this is plan B for rodgers? tongue.gif

..but Rodgers doesn't do plan B sweat.gif

haha, i think its a good squad player. (not sure the prices (reported 9 million), though i think he will offer a lot more than aspas or assaidi

Germany has always qualified to the quarterfinals in every WC if i'm not mistaken.

There is no stand out team (at least to me) but don't be surprise there will be a team that's not the traditional country that will win this years WC

Yeah but they always failed to go all the way through. I think they'll reach quater/semi this year too but they won't become champion. It's either Spain or Argentina IMO.
But bonus if England wins it thumbup.gif
Anyways, regarding Moreno. Worth it? I've seen him play but on youtube. Maybe some of yous who follow La Liga can shed some light on this guy.

"Sevilla are reported to want an initial cash sum of £16.2 million which could then rise to £20 million with add-ons."

in brazil, south america..

i think the tournament traditionally doesn't favour the european (or asian) teams. As much as africa continent has been supplying great african teams in recent world cups. apart from nigeria, i haven't really notice the african teams may spring a surprise this world cup.

argentina, brazil or uruguay are good favourites.

personally I think spain may suffer a set back, so will italy. in my opinion

As expected the result of England.

We always knew of Woy, Roy. He doesn't really know how to set up a proper selection & tactics against top teams. If he thinks Suarez isn't world class yet, maybe he shd take his meds.

Woy's well known for being clueless. Proved it at LFC, confirmed it with England.

Rewatched the Uruguay n England game. We all know Roy relied on the core England team being mostly Liverpool players. A lot of England moves are text book Liverpool players own comfortable wave length. Were they good enough?

Decent but nothing spectacular. Not much of individual brilliance. Suarez alone is in thick of many many Uruguay's moves.

We shdnt even contemplate to ever selling Suarez. Not for the coming season or next shakehead.gif

Apparently Suarez was a bit upset over some media thingy

The Guardian write that Suarez “implied that it had been criticism directly before the England tie that had riled him.”

The actual quotes from Suarez are:

“What happened before the match‚ I did not want to attack anybody, only some of the media started making fun of me and you are in the media. You should know what happened and why they did that to me.”

The Guardian’s report claims “It was unclear to what Suárez was referring.”

They explain how Suarez’s stock with the English media was actually at an all-time high prior to the tournament and he’d been awarded the Football Writers Player of the Year. Both true.

Indeed, a search through English newspapers for the fortnight prior to the England vs Uruguay game is difficult to find any negative press relating to Suarez.

So just what was Suarez referring to? It’s a question that a lot of English journalists and reporters have been asking on twitter.

The Times‘ Liverpool correspondent Tony Barrett replied to Associated Press’ Rob Harris explaining that Suarez was referring to a certain front page on one tabloid:

Some speculate it was maybe this (as usual the f3ck SUN paper)

QUOTE(wadefak @ Jun 24 2014, 12:04 PM)
instead of letting Suarez go to Real/Barcelona, why not bring Real/Barcelona to Suarez?  flex.gif

Barcelona is on the decline, it will take a while to replace some seniors. I mentioned about this before, the thrashing in the hands of BM, the struggle to even mount a proper challenge to the la liga, the core of Spain players and how Spain fares in WC. Granted they were on the top top for many years, it's the passing, the transition that's crucial

We on the other hand, have bright prospects, many young talents emerging. What we do and how we achieve and how LFC invest the good players to help the balance.

I won't want to sell Suarez this season, I will want new good blood/recruits to help Suarez and co to assault the league title.

We all know gerrard is not a force to reckon anymore. He passion never diminishes. Suarez knows that too, cause they both share cause and strong bond. A lot of people cannot or unable to understand sometimes they do let their emotions show. It's difficult because it's inbuilt in them.

The only explanation:

He knows the English media will go ape-shit on his ass.

So he will use it as an excuse to leave.

or...

he's got a real mental issue left unresolved.
*
The former, but likely a mix of both.

English media will not let this go, he complained the other day about their agenda.

He will be disappointed with himself. Uruguay is toothless without him (likely ban from FIFA for the rest of the tournament). The whole of Uruguay nation will be disappointed with him, the chances of progression far in the tournament has dimmed.

Perhaps that's Suarez weakness, agitate him (as in the recent English media article by the Sun) he snaps. vmad.gif

QUOTE(Duke Red @ Jun 25 2014, 06:48 PM)
Can't really compare Suarez's incessant need to bite people with Cantona's kung-fu kick or Keane's diabolical challenge on Haaland as Suarez is a repeat offender. On top of that I can't understand what provoked him to do it? I mean Cantona was getting stick from a fan, Keane and Haaland had a running feud, Materazzi effectively called Zidane's sister a whore. What in the heck did Chiellini or Ivanovic do to Suarez to deserve a love bite?
*
It's like what made Tyson bite Holyfield

They all desperately want to win. Real bad.

Not defending Suarez, but like those gifted talents, there is a thin line between sanity & insanity.

He Suarez needs help. He's a kid in a mans body. He needs to be away from the spotlight for a while to seek treatment. The ban will hurt him, my guess it will be severe from FIFA and chances are the extension ban may spill to club football.

I don't want LFC to sell him. The ban should it covers club football, all likely will mean any interest will dim. To cash on selling him? Maybe long term it may be for the good of our club but short term we will struggle.

I know many will say we still have sturridge but in truth, sturridge isn't in the same class/league as Suarez. No disrespect to sturridge. The form he showed wasn't consistent enough.

But brace yourself for Liverpool's fortunes with Suarez, it will be unpresented action by FIFA sad.gif

I personally dont believe that a player is above the club, or no player is irreplaceable...but if i draw my own hypothetical scenario: Barcelona - Messi - biting opposition not once but twice...i dont think they will sell....and even CR @ RM...Am not defending Suarez for his antic, but in my personal opinion he is more nuts, crazy, stupid even...but not despicable or disgraceful. His madcap tendency to bite might be more psychological, maybe part eccentricity, and part insanity...but like it or not, we cant sell if we are serious about an assault for the title next season, unless, we are willing and prepared to lower down expectation for the coming season. At the end of the day, if he delivers next season and we got our title, all will be forgotten, is it not??

...having said this...i wuldnt mind if we take a good look at enner valencia of ecuador...or divock origi of belgium...both shown great ability and potential...

Agree,

he (Suarez) is a big reason why we are back in the Champions League & why we made a decent challenge to the league title.

He is wrong but He needs help. Liverpool knows this, even if FIFA or the rest don't care

Not unexpected

Some say it's lenient sad.gif

No Suarez didn't kill anyone, nor did he destroy a players career intentionally breaking leg, or kicking someone's chest & player actually died because of internal bleeding ...

Lenient they say..

Go get some life. Suarez is wrong, but he didn't kill someone

This is absolutely most stupid punishment FIFA has made.

The entity suffering most is the club, not the player!

What a load of hogwash from a corrupted entity

Football governing body, supposedly all things football but in some cases they will allow regional body to settle regional disputes.

Since this is World Cup, as I said FIFA will excercise their muscle
