 how do u improve ur photographic skills, and how long have u been using dslr

newbie totally in dslr/photography. just wondering how long have u guys been in this scene ie DSLR? and besides taking pics for c&c, any other means do u guys use to improve ur skill?(internet? magazine? what mag is better for newbie?)

those are just sources to give you knowledge and ideas.

many people have access to that but still producing sub-standard work, simply because those information are limited.

the key to beautiful photos is to know how to create, that means you know how to utilize whatever you learned to your advantage.

take take and take more photos, and be open to criticism, even if its really really bad criticism. I have been taking photos for close to a year now, and for sure as you age and mature your photos become better if u accept criticism and comments. and yes, youtube and stuff like that make a good source of info. go to photography websites and look at other good photos and ask yourself WHY do u like the photo, what makes it good, what makes it bad.

flickr and national geographic YourShot are two places i post my photos. YourShot have some good editorial notes on photos they pick with reasons why it makes a good photo.

Take loads of photos. Try to emulate sifus. But don't try to recreate their style.

Each photographers' eye is different.
