Need some advice and insight from sifu and otai here,
I have not-so-recently graduated friend whose having problem securing a job in the industry(upstream).

Background
- Fresh local grad in Petroleum Engineering with upper-second class. JPA scholar. Involved(and won) in several industry-related competition at international level
- Intern at SK but currently SK is saying that they don't hire fresh grad
- Got an offer during final semester by UMW but decided to snub it as UMW want him to start immediately(forego his study)

Initially he's focusing on the KL-based company, and have been to few interview but no luck. At this point he's willing to try anything, as long as he can kickstart his career as soon as possible.

My question is,
1) Is there any upstream company which well-known to hire this kind of candidate? Got lobang? tongue.gif

2) What advice would you give to someone in similar position as his? keep trying/cold call/start small/enroll in certain programme etc?
