Hoping to go Shell LNG HQ in Singapore. But all they do there is downstream works right?  hmm.gif And I'm quite tempted with offshore in miri though  drool.gif

Hehe. Linde here can learn all the basic things needed in the gas industry I guess. Heard from colleagues that it is quite similar with the LNG industry.

Did my internship with Linde back when I was a student and am now working in LNG plants. Would defo say they are very very similar in terms of operations if you're lucky enough to get into production department

You with Bechtel or Conoco? I know UGL are starting to take a front seat in LNG facilities due to APLNG wanting more choices in the long run aside from LORAC.

But yeah, get into production or ops if you want to go downstream. Most of these plans have an operational lifespan of 30 years, which means a stable job from start to plant EOL.

I'm now on the team building a few LNG compressor plants in the field, so I'm upstream rather than downstream.

Not with either of them, am with the main operator of the two gas plants in Karratha. Not really a big company like Petronas however.

Woodside. A name rarely heard here in the East laugh.gif

How's the downstream business? I wanted to get with Conoco (we call them CoconutPhilips here on site) and see the world, but it seems they're not interested in hiring right now sad.gif

Yeah I know, its not that big anyway. When I mention the company, a lot of people has no idea about it. But hey, give some credit to the company, it used to be from the Eastern States =P

What I can say is economy is not doing that well for O&G as well. Usually the case when deals break down, exploration not finding anything useful and so on.

In 1 of their pluto plant huh? Karratha a hell place to be, hot and dry. Scorching hot once 9am  sweat.gif

how did you end an offer there bro?
*
I spend more time in the other plant which is older and more interesting things to see tongue.gif *If you get what I meant*

I know I am still enjoying the temperature there right now as it's winter over here. Can't imagine how its going to be like during summer.

Hmm, did a degree locally over there and ended up getting sponsored by them in their graduate program. Very lucky I have to say.
