Just hoping to get some opinion here. Same here, graduated with a chem eng degree last year. Been working in a project management role for almost a year in the oil and gas industry. Am hoping for a more technical role in the future. Was gonna leave my comfort zone and do a full time master degree. Some say that this is a suicidal mission and that probably i wont make it back to the industry.

I received offers from Heriot-Watt, UTM & UTP albeit its research mode in UTP and taught for the former two. I am in a terrible dilemma. So should I do a research mode master degree or a taught one? Negative thoughts has been running all over my head since and that research masters are less recognized by employers. Is this true?

Fees is a factor here. Assuming that I do not want to continue phD after masters, which is the best choice for me given my current scenario. However, I also hear that some people say that companies employed people based on their accomplishment which is an indication of their capability and that their research title is secondary (even though its not related).

P/s: Research title is on EOR.

I am looking for ong vacancy. Now I am doing water & waste treatment for industry and municipal-2 years experience - Project, business dev. Others, I been working as kuli macai in non related profession for few years.

I have been trying to get into this industry for quite a while. No invitation for interview whatsoever.

Now I am more focus than ever to get into this industry since my good friend left for petrofac - his first step into this industry after few years of working. He also doing master in UTP - jalan semarak.

I also want to liaise my work with my study, so I am seeking your expertise and good advise for my dilemma..chio

Try to apply all O&G firm for graduate post if any. Linde is just soso only. Not recommended if u would like to pursue ur career in O&G.

sory for spamming..im so the very much desperate nw to get a job..why is it so hard to get a call for a job iv??I was rejected and being dumped by two companies at the very final stage u knw the bitter feelings when u r being pushed away to the starting point when u r one more step to the summit. I was very VERY VERY frustrated after all the hard journey and turbulence tht i've been through from the one-to-one iv,case study,group iv,ppt,technical assessment when finally at d very last minute u r being dejected while ur friends dy secured dey job n u r wasting ur money for the transportation tickets and accommodation for the sake of those ivs?i mean what r the purposes of making these 3-7 stages of iv.gosh next tyme y dun u do 10000 stages of iv to filter all those 'feelingless' applicants.now i need to regain my strength and emotion from the scratch again any motivational words or vacancies available for those who r not that very much outspoken and dun really knw the technique to gebang and do all sweet talking stuff.any advice?any ideas what r d general criteria n requirements needed by ong comp?
