as'salammualaikum ...I just wondering could anyone guide me a bit on my path.
I’m a graduate in mechanical engineering at Universiti Malaysia Pahang, after I graduated, I got my job here at sapurakencana petroleum (lumut) as graduate engineer in yard development department (which is more to civil engineering), I really want to jump to the projects department (PMD, even engineering department) but seems my manager won’t release me as I’m the only engineer left in this department. Do you have any advice to me on what I should I do? Should I stay and waits or it is already time I need to jump to other place?

Yes the vessel was in Dubai named Deep Producer. It is Dynamic Positioning vessel, it is abandoned ship. Not sure some equipment or packages still can used.

But what make me confuse, how TTHE got this project? At least the worst this project shall go to MMHE since they are local champions on FPSO
*
Because the vessel bought by one of Tabung Haji's subsidiaries. So, basically the vessel belongs to Tabung Haji.

Tabung Haji has more subsidiaries than the bank that collects money to perform hajj and such. They have a dedicated investment unit that look into local companies or businesses that require funding - not restricted to O&G.

If I am the owner of Tabung Haji, why would I award the project to my competitor while I can use this opportunity to learn and develop this sort of business? As if MMHE (which is claimed to be Champion in vessel and FPSO) didn't ef-up the Cendor FPSO project.

They have a few offshore support/supply vessels JV with Alam Maritim (TH Alam). Maybe this is time to venture into FPSO....about TTHE, no comment. It was ramunia if I'm not mistaken...Malaysia is very good at awarding contracts to haw-haw company..maybe it "wahyu" come from top above...kekeke...

The contract doesnt go thru competitive bidding. THHE CEO really got good talk2 hehe

Anyway on the bright sight maybe Petronas/JX Nippon are behind schedule and constrained the first oil milestone. So they go for direct sourcing and by not bringing MISC/MMHE also reduce some score in schedule risk

U know...ruby..cendor....same old same old...

First stage interview is more on self-introduction. The HR want to know about your life, experience, and some general knowledge smile.gif. Btw, i have been invited for second stage murphy interview and they said it will be group assessment. Does anyone here have information what kind of group assessment will be and mind share if you have experienced it.

The first stage will be one on one interview with the HR recruiter personnel. The personnel will ask you general questions to gauge your interest and from there they will place you for the next stage if selected. As per JM10 said on the first stage interview. Mine was at a hotel behind KLCC forgot the name.

Second interview will be group exercise they normally do the usual activities like most companies but I think its best if you guys expect some sort of surprise....make the process a little more fun when expecting the unknown. Then after group playing session you will go for the interview with the hiring managers.

During my time those at the career fair where the managers working at Murphy, went for second interview and was shocked to see those people jaga the booth are managers.

I heard that Murphy's mode of medivac from its Msia fixed offshore platforms is to engage a military chopper to lift the poor soul off the platform in a stretcher hung down from the chopper, and to onshore medical facility.

Really cowboy stylelaa, this company. :0
