It's going to be a tough year in 2015.
Petronas' cutting CAPEX by almost 20%, unless the oil price is over USD80bbl. Experts predict the oil price will only go up to the USD100bbl level in mid 2016. http://www.thestar.com.my/Business/Busines...n-Pe/?style=biz |

QUOTE(InF.anime @ Nov 30 2014, 02:18 PM) Project planning, but do you have an engr degree? Can join all sides as a planner/planning engineer. Many ways to package the job title.. Mostly you need an engineering degree but not necessary to be registered with BEM.. Thats from my experience Supply chain also good...can join procurement or contracts- all companies have this positions within the oil and gas spectrum.... |

I think most project planning jobs required engineering background and it's quite important I think. Now in downstream supply chain.. thinking to go further r Upstream supply chain after finish the master.. |

QUOTE(InF.anime @ Nov 30 2014, 03:20 PM) Thanks bro I highly suggest you to stick to downstream.. A lot of companies only consider upstream experience/downstream experience as opposed to considering it as one..I don't have engineering background.. I think most project planning jobs required engineering background and it's quite important I think. Now in downstream supply chain.. thinking to go further r Upstream supply chain after finish the master.. For exp: 3 yrs downstream 4 yrs upstream Most companies from upstream will pay u 4 yrs salary not 7.. |

QUOTE(mhyug @ Nov 28 2014, 12:36 AM) huii stop damning the mrt la. some of us here really need it. x kisah la how songlapness this country is, at least that mrt is coming. The news already break in the houston that BH is cutting a huge chunk of jobs in the logisitc and administration. there are overlapping of business since the merger and they are shedding off the extra baggages. on another note, drilling and production is on the low, so it will be harder to get in to the job market. wont be easy to enter OnG muda mudi. mahukah nak slug it out backbreaking work, with low pay for a few years, less holiday??? and NO sight of land for weeks, no good internet and at some places no tv. if yes i have some service line within the drilling side looking for recruits. i wonder whats the update on those candidates Baker interviewed. with the merger and all where do you stand? a few of the baker guys i know pon sudah sweating since most services baker is offering to client is also offered by halliburton. well either way deep water is picking up a bit on the east.....dah ber minggu x nampak semenanjung ni...still in one piece ka?? Sigh, just when I thought I have a bright chance to get into the service companies, the economy isnt helping pulak. Anyway, quite interested with the backbreaking work you are suggesting. Mind to PM me the info. Thanks |

Guys, I just got an interview with Schlumberger tomorrow. Anybody know what sort of question they usually asked? And they have group work assignment as well. Any idea what kind of task they are giving? Thank you

Are you sure just THHE?There will be more related to O&G in the pipeline. Unfortunate? Not really, as O&G companies in the world are giving the most benefits. Economy are good, they can recruit and create all those useless departments. Economy bad, close the department down Sometimes to really survive in O&G companies, just paper alone won't give 100% job security. You need to have real technical skills to support. But not to worry much, if you have work experience and paper, can always try in Middle East countries. Saudi pay are lower, but cost of living are lower at the same time. Qatar not bad, but cost of living slightly higher. Best of all, tax free. |
