still not convinced vela would take us to the next level, if anything he's a good squad player. emotions aside if we poach a player from barca i'd rather it be pedro/alexis.

this cesc ordeal has the potential to end in a very bad manner. i could see cesc moving to whatever team that offers him the best contract with assurance of first team action. because it's really difficult for me to picture cesc and ozil playing together when they occupy the same space. santi was okay because he's used to playing on the wings with malaga. i know we've seen ozil on the flanks before, but that's more tactical dribbling than anything, he drags players that mark him to the sides so that ramsey can make his runs.

iinm when barcelona first had cesc back they played iniesta as a LAM, with xavi and cesc both playing box to box while sergio busquets plays anchorman. in terms of blockbuster action i think neither cesc nor ozil reaches the level of iniesta, but arguably cesc is a lot more active than ozil who holds the ball, does tactical dribbling and waits for the chance to make a through ball.

i think if we're going to accommodate cesc and ozil in the same team i prefer having cesc on the flanks. our crosses might suffer a bit since cesc is a right footer, so he's not as good as lukas, but i think gibbs can make up for that.

i want to see him back so i'm trying to think of several scenarios where we can field our best players, but it's pretty difficult without sacrificing pace since both cesc and ozil are slow players.
