tbh i can't remember any italian defender playing for the top teams in EPL, maybe because the pace and aggression in EPL is a lot for the serie a defenders to cope with. looking at the top teams we have:

Clichy, Demichelis, Kompany, Zabaleta
Gibbs, Per, Kosc, Sagna
Cole, Terry, Luiz, Ivanovic
Jose Enrique, Agger, Skrtel, Johnson

England(4), France (3), Argentina (2), Others (1)

so we're about to lose france's 1st RB to compete with argentina's RB in City, while England's RB is in pool. the trend in the PL lately is to take Belgium and Germany players, and we all know German's RB aint going nowhere. i dont know who is Belgium's 1st RB, but Toby Alderweireld hasnt played much since joining atleti, that might be a good option. and if wenger prefers a french player with PL experience there's Mathieu Debuchy as well

no one from the city team will leave. unbelievable, they have like 4 strikers but all had their share of game time throughout the season, thanks to sergio getting injured. i would still have loved to have stevan jovetic, i think he's shown glimpses of class in the few games that he has played for city. i think jove is going to stay there for quite some time, the only striker i think that has the slightest chance of leaving city is negredo.

costa to chelsea, of course i cant tell the future but i think he'll be very successful there. he'd probably be the proper drogba replacement. if that transfer happens i'd be worried.

and again, i dont think we're realistically going for the balotelli/cavani/suarez type of player, remy would be a good enough transfer for me. but maybe wenger could pull off another ozil, then cavani would be hnngggghh
