if you looking for long term, get those proper tanks you see in shopping malls, those you can refill when service intervals come, not sure bomba can refill or not.

Tips for me: If i want to buy something over rm5 in Mr.DIY, I'll make sure to check with Daiso if the item is available so i save more.

P/s: Toys for your children is worth to buy and i recommend Mr.DIY wall-hanger coz it's cheaper in a whole Malaysia! smile.gif
*
I wouldn't recommend kids toys that are too cheap, mainly because they probably used low quality, recycled or hazardous materials, or leaded paint, especially for toddlers where they would bite anything. for younger children, make sure they wash their hands after playing with them. Even those in Daiso i don't recommend because Daiso had case of recalls on their toys in Singapore. For baby toys best buy from reputable brands since babies have weaker immune system.

Even EXPENSIVE toys can do harm to children, its about how u manage ur child lifestyle. Don't judge the toys by its price tags! That's my concern n my opinion. #PeaceNoWar
*
i'm talking about the cheap material & paint used on cheap toys, they don't have any certification from safety boards. no matter how you manage your kids lifestyle it won't prevent lead paints being picked up by their hands, unless your kids don't play with toys.

those are weather seal, mainly for house windows & doors, Daiso got sell longer stripes for rm5.30, if want better quality suggest go Ace Hardware price is x5 more. i haven't tried the ones i got from Daiso so can't see if there's big difference, but if you want to use on car, suggest quality ones because door keep open close will put lots of stress on the stripes and the heat from sun will cause the tape to come loose easier.

anybody use mr. diy rechargeable battery?? im thinking to use it for shaver..

recharge battery so far only Sanyo Eneloop works for me. other brands like Energizer doesn't hold much charge and will deplete after few weeks even when not used.

Ive bought mr diy non rechargeable AA battery for my daughter lantern last year. within seconds the battery grew so hot, i can't even hold the handle. (battery is placed inside handle of lantern). Good thing i was quick enough to uncap the batteries. it was leaking badly.
lucky i tested the lantern first before passing it my my daughter.

other batteries like CR3032 don't last

but LR44 button batteries seems to be ok though. using it on digital calipers
*
Mr.DIY brand rectangular battery (black/gold) seems ok. i use on Smart Tag can last much longer than Everyday or Energizer. But more expensive than cheaper brands. For AA/AAA usually go for Tesco or Daiso Brand (x10 for rm5.30). Only button batteries get from DIY because cheapest.

those rechargable battery are very weak, fake capacity and can't last long

if want cheap and promising quality, get GP rechargeable

if dont mind paying more just for your shaver...
go for panasonic eneloop 4th generation, got two version, one is made in japan, the other one made in china,
the one selling in most local retailers like aeon big, tesco, are made in china, the old batch stock selling in US are made in japan, but all latest batch now are made in china ady.
*
Sony Cycle Energy uses similar tech as Eneloop. I don't know any difference between Sanyo Eneloop & Panasonic Eneloop other than got Lite version.

Local Eneloop are super expensive in Malaysia. Buy from Singapore can save alot.

For the Charger go for branded ones that has quick charge + normal Charge + auto cut.

Conventional Rechargeable not worth getting even cheaper because they are inefficient.

Not Sony, its Sanyo, panasonic bought sanyo eneloop division and technology and rebrand it as panasonic eneloop on their 4th generation eneloop, other than branding, the main difference is on the increased charge cycle on the latest generation.
Yes, local one expensive about 40% and made in china
Charger, get smart charger with individual charging bay, 1 LED per cell instead of 2 cells per 1 LED
if possible avoid quick-charge charger to preserve your battery lifespan.
not only inefficient, they will damage and shorten your battery lifespan
*
No, Sony also has their own recyclable rechargeable batteries like Sanyo, GP also have, Cycle Energy they call it, all use NiMH (same as laptop batteries) instead of Lithium ion.

I use Sanyo Charger but not the one from Eneloop pack, i had to buy the Lithium Ion + Charger pack to get that charger it has:
4 slot (2 AAA/AA, 2 AA Quick Charge)
individual lights
refresh button + light

Quick Charge only activates when you put the batteries on the quick charge AA slots, it will be disabled when you put more than 2 batteries on the charger.

downside is can only charge 2 AAA 1 time.

Do they offer franchise to their brand?
*
looking at how fast they expand i think they follow Daiso business method, some self operate some franchise out. don't think they have the financial capability to open 1 outlet in every 3 new malls up.

might be wrong though.

right now there is nobody to match Mr.DIY, but who knows, it only takes 1 big China company to enter to crush DIY.

I try to stay away from DIY batteries (those gold and black ones) as they tend to leak.

For AA/AAA, I think nothing beats the ones sold at IKEA. Cheaper and more reliable.
FIXMAN branded tools are quite decent. I had assembled quite a substantial set over the years for automotive DIY and they have not failed. It would have cost me a fortune if I had bought branded automotive tools.
*
i got use the DIY rectangular batteries coz not many option. not cheap also.

but for AA/AAA, i find Daiso plastic wrapped ones more worth it, you get 10 batteries i think. i notice Daiso batteries got longest expiry date, now buy can go up to 2013. i stock them for emergency.

Tesco is cheap but only 4 per packs and cost more than Daiso plastic wrap packs.

is it a real spa ?
i felt bad for many pop n mom hardware store closing down because most people rather go to mr diy
*
contractors still prefer go hardware shops, coz DIY quality can be questionable when it comes to heavy duties, and the shopkeepers knows the basic stuff, but not good enough.

DIY, like it's brand, is good for DIY purpose.

in the end, which shop cheaper & can offer required item gets the deal.

Bought this from Mr. DIY, primarily for the hex and torx head.
NI hope it would last for some years using on normal driver.
*
thing is these things, sometimes the size is like 0.01mm different making the fitting loose on the screw and end up damaging the head.

i bought a screw from DIY, it's very good, american flag design handle, and you can pull the head out invert it to change from - to + head, but they no longer sell it, they sell the same handle screw, but cannot be swapped.

bought another fixed head screw from them, the fit seems not as good as the one i bought.

Diy got sell fix it pro pen stratch remover?
*
the brand never see, but i've seen marker pen like touch up paint in DIY near their counter. i got the white paint not really good. i think bottled paint with paint brush still best method for touching up as you can thin the paint with paint thinner to make it easier to apply. usually rm10 per bottle only.
