Heya,
Just to remind you guys, this coming Sunday (26/11/06), the random 4 vs 4 mini tournament will be making its appearance at Point Extreme cyber cafe. It is located near Sunway Pyramid, closer to ONE Academy. So its just a walk away from SS15. Hope everyone can attend, especially to those that couldn't make it for the previous one. Its random arena format, so come and register. Everyone should register before 12 noon as things should start around that time. However, you can make your way to the cyber cafe now and register.

The prize for the champion will be RM300, a limited edition Guild Wars T-Shirt and an an Action LeadFigure Inc wallet. First runner up will receive the Action LeadFigure Inc wallet and a D-Link goodie bag. More info can be found at the e-club Guild Wars website.

For the past two tournaments, I have met Celestial Order and Goda Vos players, Supreme Raiders not interested ar? Anyway would be really great to see you guys in person and I bet everyone else would want to get to know the community.

Any more Malaysian guild that I don't know about?

Well we are not promoting at PC Fair per se' but D-Link will be offering deals for Guild Wars if you buy their items. Unfortunately its free trial keys and such.

Right now we are concentrating around the Sunway area because that is the hub of cyber cafes. As you know, we are running Day of Defeat tournament as well in tandem with the Guild Wars tournament.

We will be having the grand finals at the Cathay Cineleisure Damansara but only as a grand final for the teams that qualified from the cafe tournaments, both for Guild Wars and Day of Defeat.

Hmm just download the client can already ? I download it once but can't play lol because dont have ID for it XD !
*
The client is free to download, make sure you run that -image that valho has already explained to download all the patches. Leave your computer overnight to finish that. Although the client is free, you do need to pay for an account. You can try the 14 days or 10 hours whichever comes first trial though. The e-club Guild Wars forum is offering that. Just register for the forums.

Last night the ping to GW was surprisingly low and manage to play for 3 hours! It was quite amazing! Wonder what tmnet did. Hopefully it stays that way or gets even better.

Btw Lusor, I'm using IE7 and I don't have any problems with my GW.

Hmmm. Weird because I have been getting playable pings in Guild Wars for 2 nights in a row now. 400 ping - 900 ping. Quite playable unless you want interrupts but I just spam broadhead arrow anyways so its quite ok. Managed to complete some missions and as for the winter hats, I got it on the day itself anyway.

Hope your line improves.

Nah I don't use proxies or tunneling software.

Anyway I guess I won't be playing tonight. The ping's jumping about like mexican beans from 600 to 2k.

Ok guys the rules, prizes and scheduling for the participating teams at the Guild Wars grand finals (4vs4) at Cineleisure Damansara has been finalized. Please check www.asiancybergames.com for the details. There could be changes untill the day of the event itself (which is this sat and sun) but most probably will be minor changes.

Any questions regarding the event (from participating teams), please PM me asap (don't forget to introduce yourself).

GL and all the best to all the teams involved for this weekend.

UPDATE: If you guys want the bonus pack for Guild Wars: Nightfall we are selling on the day itself. You will get a free Nightfall T-Shirt for every purchase of Guild Wars: Nightfall bonus pack.

In addition its not going to be released in the agreed 6 months time. They are taking more time with this coming chapter. Or was it because recent events caused them to push back the release date for the coming chapter ...

Oh man I really sympathise with new GW gamers. I recently formated my office computer and I had to reinstall GW. Did so by using the Nightfall CD, did the -image trick and was quite surprised that I had to download 30k++ files. Wow. What a way to really push away new gamers of this game.

I have backed up the GW.dat but I was just curious as to how many files do I need to download if I were a new user. Guess that's that.

After updating, my GW.dat size is 5.3 Gb. Weird, its 2 Gb bigger than the one at my home PC.

QUOTE(Haneda @ Mar 3 2007, 01:27 PM)
Don't think that will push new gamers away, most high end online games hav huge dl updates and patches too.. eg WoW, EQ2

Maybe gw should force a -image after a fresh install to prevent unwanted long dl time during gameplay
*
You'd be surprised. Remember the weekend demo events for interested new users? Alot of them didn't bother because of the update file size. I know coz I had to put up with my friends complaining. Even if you did want to use the -image trick, it would still mean one day of no play. The event was only a two day event.

E-club is still planning some events for GW. However, the Celestial Tournament is going on at the moment. So anyway, hopefully the support for the future events will be more. To be blunt though, the number of local GW players aren't enough to properly field more than 2-3 8 player teams.

Uh I know how many teams that can be fielded because I have asked. Anyway, most of the events that were held had CO and GV members present most of the time so I am not sure what do you mean by no awareness. Granted I guess there should be more advertisements but then again, this is one of the first few events for GW in the local community. E-Club is learning as it goes along. In total, there were 4 tournaments held. Two at SS15, one at Klang and another at Damansara Uptown. Those are not exactly 'ulu' places. Advertisements were done by posters at said CCs and also through forum postings in lowyat forums and also the local guild forums.

I say again, E-Club can only do so far to spread awareness about GW. Trust me, there are other things they are doing besides tournaments. However, if there are GW related events, E-Club can only go so far to organize one. Participation by the community dictates how successful an event really is. However, everyone wants a win-win situation. E-Club is not doing this just to see it fail. So hopefully, future GW event will see more people turning up. smile.gif

You can check out the reseller outlets for Guild Wars here.

If you are in the TTDI area, you can check out mygozone for a copy of NF. Those places also sell the bonus pack for NF as well if you are interested. However, please phone them first before going to confirm if they have the game in stock or not.

Just to add to raydenex's replies to rad's questions:

1. Lvl 20 is the max level cap in the game. So for pvp, you can create a lvl 20 character straight. You can however, bring your pve character in the pvp arenas as well.
2. The hero battles are for NF users only (If I am not mistaken?).
3. You don't earn gold in pvp, you earn balthazar faction points. If you play Heroe's ascent, you can also earn fame points. If you play Alliance Battles or Jade Quarry or Fort Aspenwood (GW:F only), you can gain Kurzick or Luxon faction points.

Balthazar faction points can be used to unlock skills, runes, weapon mods, armour mods and also heroes.
Fame points is just for your personal ranking.
Kurzick/Luxon faction points can be used either to get jade or amber (for elite armour in GW:F) or to be given to the guild for chance to own a town in Cantha.

To get you all pumped for the release of GW:EN, there will be a Guild Wars tournament at Blaze City Cyber Cafe @ D'sara Uptown in PJ on the 22nd of this month. It will be hero battles, scrimmage format which means that its 1 vs 1 with 3 heroes in each team battling it out in a Guild Hall.

You can catch the original news here or check out the thread in lowyat forums right here.

Its a choice between Xpand Rally or GTI Racing. Both are racing games that are just made available via STEAM.

Regarding the bonus weapons for GW:GOTY ed, to get it ingame you just type /bonusitem and it will spawn in your inven. So make sure you have space first. Of course before that you key in the GW:GOTY account codes into your account.
