Uhh.. I just surveyed the FF in the curve last weekend, I'd recommend you stick with celebrity for a couple reasons. First off, even though they have power rack as well as t-bar rows there in FF, most of the compound machines are singular in count, meaning you'd wait long on peak hours.
Also, if you are into dips and pull-ups, the single machine there is, in my opinion, very crappy. First thing you'd notice on their pull-up/dip machine is it is assisted, and unlike the one in celebrity, I can't find a way to disable the assist. Also, the assist is via standing instead of at the knee level (I dont know if its adjustable, I couldnt adjust it when i was there). I've always done pull-ups and dips with my legs cross and knee pointed down, so it feels weird to me. Another thing is you have to climb way up, its around 3 feet off the ground and the steps are not at the side, but behind you. Its hard to describe, but its a very very weird setup and looks very likely to cause injury if not used properly.
The smith machine, also only one, is slightly different than the one in celebrity as it is purely vertical without any angle going downwards. It looks like it is built for squatting and vertical rows instead of benching as the instructions and pics on the machine shows.
The other problem I had with their weight room is space. It is smaller and a lot more cramped up than celebrity. The good thing there is the free juice/soda/drink bar as well as free locker with key. But no free towels. Anyway, try it out before cancelling your celebrity membership.
I disagree. Machines suck. They will never have the potential to build muscle like free weights.
The Smith sucks, for almost everything, period. All you need are free weights, db's and bb's.
I agree that the assisted station is weird but i found a way to disable the assist when i was training on a free pass there.
