but does it really need halal cert since this does not involved in any meat?

i thought halal issue is only application for preparation for meat?

If you feel 100% sure halal, eat
If you feel 50/50, don't eat.

depends on what type of muslim you are. if you are liberal muslim, don't care.

but if you're paranoid muslim, don't eat. sked later the kuali got use minyak babi. or the human cooking it touch babi b4. or maybe the lift that used to transport the food share the same space with babi meat before.

I got Malay colleague who doesn't mind, no problem for her.

I've also seen a few Malays eat in some Yong Tau Foo restaurants that are not certified halal because well...its only fish...

That can be found in almost everything we eat from chicken, vegetable oils and etc.

And the water we drink, contains OH- ion that found in Alcohol?

Then I guess its ok. I'd eat there after asking the shop owner if its Hala (the chinese here generally tell you correctly about halal or non)

Anyways after asking the onus of truth is on the store owner (Meaning if they said halal we can assume it to be halal, as long as we know there is no pork/nonhalal meat/alcohol) and if they lied about it the sin is on them.

My chinese classmate regularly eats the chinese buddhist restaurant (veg) She's Muslim and they didn't say anything about her eating there so far, but then again she is chinese and doesn't wear tudung

Alcohol is not haram. Liquor is. Wine is. Benda memabukkan is. Alcohol? No. Plus alcohol will evaporate into the air anyway once used.

But to answer TS, vegetarian chinese food is OK. As ALL the ingredients used would be from veges, including oil. Some muslim think that only them are strict with their diet, well, vegetarians are strict too.

i agree.

but all those reason i stated was mentioned before by muslim paranoids.
1)sked the kuali got minyak babi.
2)the person handling it touch babi b4
3)the method used to transport the food too close to babi.

haih... these people paranoid teramat sangat. even indon muslims also don't so paranoid.

Not to burst your bubble.

But they can still decline.
It's all in their perception.

I asked a friend before, and he said turned it down. "Was-was lah", he said. Although was-was against what I'm not sure, since I already explained to him and he cannot think of anything that could be haram.

I tot janji ada pakai alcohol of any sort in the cooking process = haram?

Haram if it becomes intoxicating food. Alcohol was never mentioned as haram. Yes it is a part of wine and liquor which were specifically mentioned as haram, but water and grapes were also a part of wine and liquor and water/grapes are not haram. Same goes to alcohol.

Of course Muslims cannot eat at Chinese vegetarian shop laaa. Even though the shop doesn't serve pork, but the money got touched by people who has touched pork, so cannot! Muslims only accept money which has not touched pork.

If the Muslim go there and give exact amount or say "keep the change", then should be ok I think.

As long you 100% sure that they ain't cooking/mixing it with haram stuff, my assumption was yes, you can. Though if there is even a 1% of uncertainty, you should not.

so muslims keep a record of all transaction, exchange of notes and coins of the people they do business with..?

last i checked most hypermarkets have a non-halal section. I guess those muslims that shop there are sinners then.
