QUOTE(noookiller @ Apr 30 2014, 11:03 PM) Z3 is low end Blackberak phone ler... Targeted at Indo. That's why codename Jakarta.QUOTE(xpole @ May 2 2014, 10:31 AM) Why do you still want to use Blackberry? Lack of apps Agree, but as the saying goes, a fool and his money is soon parted. There are so many models out there, HTC, Sony, and others. QUOTE(hyperyouth_firepower @ May 2 2014, 09:11 PM) If apps is the only thing you're thinking of... Hyper - Good advise as always! You're not supposed to get this phone. If you're thinking of communications first... Then this phone is good enough for you. Because this is TRUE BLACKBERRY with no compromises in communication features. (no such thing as high end software and low end software) technically BlackBerry can run both BlackBerry 10 apps and Android apps. BOTH, at the same time. What it does not run though, are Google Services Framework. |

QUOTE(noookiller @ May 8 2014, 07:53 PM) The price is expected to be idr 2199000. That is roughly around rm600 if converted directly. So the price cant be far from that range. I was kidding about the... 99 thingMy wife is already loving the design. It looks very classy. Your wife isn't very bright is she... Z3 spec is lower than Z10. Z10 LTE is already in the range of RM600 now. |

QUOTE(hyperyouth_firepower @ May 10 2014, 09:57 PM) Okay bro, erm.. Hoi, you gila already? I'm a Z10 STL-100-1 user myself. Specs wise, the Z10 > Z3, except.. "size". a) screen size (LOL) b) battery size (LOL) but otherwise, the Z10 is actually a good bet. If you're getting the 3G model (STL-100-1) which is a DIFFERENT CHIP (TI OMAP + PowerVR SGX544) vs the STL-100-2/3/4 models that run on Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon S4 + Adreno 225. I'm not so sure what is the advantage of Adreno 305 vs Adreno 225, but higher numbers = better right? But the z3 comes with 5mp, and the z10 comes with 8. Not sure how big is the REAL world difference is. But i'll advise you that if you buy the Z10, you really, really need to buy the battery bundle . The battery dries up real fast on the Z10. But with the newer software on 10.2.1 vs 10.0, it is a BIG world of difference. very big. What I can guarantee is that the Z10 won't be losing out on the 10.3 update (unlike the previous generation of BlackBerry legacy devices, where if you buy the generation 6, you can't have generation 7 OS, etc) I suggest you play around with a z3 first, then play around with a z10. For me, I solved my z10 with a powercase (very bulky), but a battery charger bundle is definitely much more preferable. If only I can get the z30 battery bundle, it will be WORTH it! z30 is the best of the z breed but you go and 'sell' z10 pulak. LOL You explain so much also .... Anyway thanks for the tips & support. My z10 has a snapdragon which battery last around 3-4 days Now with whatps, last around 24 hours, with hardly any use. How did you get battery bundle? and what's the cost? QUOTE(hyperyouth_firepower @ May 23 2014, 09:05 AM) WARNING: Correct me if I'm wrong. but GPS, the problem isn't with the hardware. The REAL problem is the maps. BlackBerry Maps is okay, Google Maps is also okay (need to download a 'special' edition, remove the dependency on Google services). I'm not sure what kind of detail you need, but if you only need Google Maps, and you're okay using the web browser version (which is kind of the same, really), should be okay. But you can still punch in coordinates, and it still tracks where you are reliably. Just that take the maps with a pinch of salt. As usual. There are paid GPS apps, but if you already have them in your Android device, you can load them (unless they use Google Services) If you already have the z3, have "SNAP" (an app to download from google play store), you can use this. http://forums.crackberry.com/android-apps-...ervices-914930/ Basically you download the APK, put it into your computer/laptop, and it removes all GOOGLE APPS dependencies, and you have a fully functioning Google Maps on your BlackBerry Z3. Hope that helps. Google likes to track people (so that they can sell relevant ads) Even Chrome will slow down over time. (DiGi recommends Opera) Furthermore, Google Maps in Malaysia is not real time up to date live map. The local law does not allow live map, which is good for security of nation. Just look for a construction site and compare to it on Google Map. Last I look Sunway South Quay is a flat land on Maps but in reality, roads are ready. I avoid using apps that invite Google as I value privacy and avoid high data usage. Beware of what you load onto your BB or else, just get an Android... Xiao Mi3 RM499 with Digi plan. |

QUOTE(hyperyouth_firepower @ Jul 16 2014, 12:05 AM) If you're not in a REAL hurry, I'll suggest waiting for the Z3 LTE version. When its released, because it has better specs to accomodate the LTE chip (i'm not sure WHY exactly, but its kinda confirmed, at least on leaked OS's documentation) and so it'll actually accomodate better stuffs, like an upgraded RAM to 2GB, increased speed to 1.5GHz, and a 8mp camera (which right now, is unconfirmed either to be a Samsung unit or a Sony unit since there are drivers for both) to fit. if Z3 LTE has better spec.. than what's the diff between Z3 LTE and Z10 LTE? LOL Of course it will be pricier than the current 3G version of Z3, but I'll say its worth it. Assuming that the current Z10/z30's 8MP camera is anything (its actually the same as the iPhone4S, but the software tuning is not as good) to say, its definitely STILL a better choice than the sensor in the current Z3 models. Wechat on Z10 is working fine, however I have not upgrade to the 10.2..... Z3 already having problems... shucks. |

QUOTE(WA300 @ Jul 25 2014, 08:09 AM) Hi, thanks for your input. My problem solved. I downloaded the latest android version from wechat website, it works fine now. I managed to restore my chat history and the notifications will only work if let the wechat open in the background. Now my BB keeps rebooting when open up wechat. The BB native app for wechat really lousy, not so good compared to other platforms. Whatsapp is working fine though. Wechat sux on BB OS10. |

QUOTE(WA300 @ Jul 28 2014, 09:06 AM) I just used wechat android version for few days, so far no issue except need to open it in the background to receive notification. Perhaps, you can try download android version from wechat website and see whether it could solve reboot problem. How to d/load android version? BTW, can you check in your Z3 keyboard, if can enter into next line without using lots of spaces. you know like type half way then next line. |

QUOTE(WA300 @ Jul 29 2014, 08:42 PM) Sorry for late reply. Just go to wechat official website and look for what's new and click android version 5.3.1... it will lead you to the page. Then, click "Download the Installation Package", you are good to go. Wechat got enter key? which part of the keyboard? between which keys? You are right. There is no enter key on Z3 keyboard as well. So far, i only noted my wechat got enter key, the rest like whatsapp, text message, BBM, all don't have that key. It is replaced by the "Send" key... |

QUOTE(WA300 @ Jul 30 2014, 10:29 AM) Yup. WeChat got enter key. But i'm using android version WeChat. The enter key is on the right side of the last row of the keyboard. In other apps like whatsapp and BBM, that key is "Send" key, but in WeChat, it's "Enter" key. Thanks ! Really disappointed only wechat got enter key. QUOTE(skkoay @ Jul 31 2014, 09:06 AM) Actually, BlackBerry is also currently running a contest – if you already own a BlackBerry or knows someone who owns one you just have to take a picture of yourself with the BlackBerry and tell them (http://www.stopmissingout.my/) how BlackBerry “keeps you connected” and you stand a chance to spend a day out with some local celebs by going on shopping spree or even a foodie tour. Might want to check that out! Run silly campaign like that, how to attract biz consumers... haiz. No wonder BB in so bad shape. |

QUOTE(hyperyouth_firepower @ Aug 4 2014, 09:37 AM) Just toyed around with my new Asus Zenfone 5 (my mother bought one for me, since my Z10 is now sent for RMA/repair, and I have to thank the folks in BBUGMY.COM for helping me out), and I just realized that the Z3 is still a better alternative to the other Intel powered / Snapdragon 400 series in the 5.0 screen size frame. z10 using Snapdragon. Forget about the high end PPI, forget about the specs, the user experience is just different. I wanted a unified, push-ready, actionable inbox. I can get that in Android, but I have to pay RM50, and I'm at the mercy of the developers. Why should I? I have to pay extras just to get a BlackBerry-esque feature, and darn right I should have. After all, a BlackBerry is for action, not reaction, not "put it later I'll view it on my laptop". Did you mean z3 offers better exp over z10? QUOTE(WA300 @ Aug 5 2014, 06:02 AM) For whatsapp and test messaging, you can go to the setting of these 2 to turn off the "enter key is send" function. Once you turn it off, the enter key will be in the keyboard. For BBM, it seems can't change that yet. Yup, found that. Too bad on BB OS10 devices. They could have use the shift key to alternate Send / Enter. |
