what would be the catalyst to drive the stock higher?

*
[/SPOILER]
catalyst would be night NTA value vs it's earning on the next few quarter. it's also listed inside PN17. thats why the price is whistling.gif whistling.gif whistling.gif drool.gif

nowadays have to venture a bit into value investing, now stocks hit all time high, need to find some gem around the sea. you got any method how to find? laugh.gif

my bad. i thought it was in the list doh.gif. confused between anther stocks

so share buybacks is one of the catalyst. but when catalyst is out from oven ppl already start q-ing to get in...limit up... this situation also very sweat.gif. by looking at benalec case. it stop halfway. when no news then no catalyst, so when no catalyst then its a no-buy?
as you say a lot of stocks already fully valued, so now is the time to stop buying and wait for opportunity? or just riding the wave up?

when?? hmm.gif

let's say now public bank trading at rm19, and i wanted to buy it. if i wait wait and wait for the next 3 years, it will probably go up to rm30, or rm40

let's say that time crisis happens, and it fell, but it only fell to rm23-rm25, at that time i still need to buy it at that current price, not at rm19 anymore sad.gif

About Mudajaya,

Base on Uncle Koon,
Seller is genuine & wanted to unload. Uncle Koon 1 man show acted as hero.

Now the problem is....
1. Is your pocket as deep as his?
2. And he only tell about it AFTER finish collecting, not WHILE still collecting.

So if you jump in also, it was a gamble.
*
not to mention those who buy and keep mudajaya at high prices also waiting to unload their losses at minimum.

actually who is this koon? heard that he was a director of mudajaya before hmm.gif

Homer next profit report (2014 Q3) should be out this month.
It's for the period ending May 2014.

If you want an idea on the impact....

note the USD rates from March 2013 to May 2013.... (I posted a chart somewhere on that  posting)
compare that with current rates from March 2014 to May 2014.

That should give you a good idea what to expect.... tongue.gif

what do you think property sector will do in this second half of 2014?

property launch are in everywhere, trying to promote to investors

many do think it will slow down but bubble is unlikely to happen, while others say home is a necessity so it will still continue to grow, so based on Malaysia's malaysians median salary and demand, what will be the outlook for the property market?

p/s: working day and night to earn extra income so may read or reply your post late tongue.gif

Plenty can be done. smile.gif

Look see and understand why your 555 stocks are going up.
What's the catalyst driving up the stocks?
Kena goreng? or is there legitimate reason causing a buying frenzy that is driving the stocks up?
Study the success of these stocks.
Can you see yourself actually trading these stocks? wink.gif

Compare to the actual stocks you are holding....
Ask yourself why so like that?
Why is the stock so lackluster?

Review of your portfolio.
It's a must.
Study your success and study your losses.
This is the best way to improve.

stocks in my CDS
-more towards fundamental
- focus more on NTA growth
- betting on divvy by it's profit and its fundamental
- not popular, undervalued counter

stocks in my 555.txt file
- fundamental+technical
- not mainly on divvy but more on how people look/regard that particular stocks as a potential hero
- based on what people blog and promote discovered

1 of the most reason my i don't buy my 555 stocks using real hard earn cash is because i'm not familiar on trading using technical analysis

i heard many people regard you as a chart expert on technical analysis but i can't figure it our by relating your post/advice. perhaps you can help us on some technical analysis about stocks? tongue.gif

so your conclusion right now is
1) want to play fundemental it's only good to wait for the next correction/crisis?

2) follow the goreng counter but not to increase in each bet?

i usually thought that NTA price is a measuring tool for benchmarking a certain company is being goreng-ed and because it pretty much reflect the situation of the company whenever privatization were to happen and they have to pay/sell to the public at NTA price

Fundamental plays? You have to think like how investors think.
ie you need to buy good companies at a cheap price.
Problem now, most aren't cheap.

... which means... you left focusing on companies on a 'new' growth phase...
this is where it's tricky...
it's not easy cos some of these growth aren't sustainable...

A more recent/current example, I have to say is SEAL and GPHAROS.
both 'turnaround' stories....
SEAL had a terrible reputation as a goreng stock.....
nobody dared touch it...
more recent... new owners came in...
and the company was focused in property (but with new twist).....
since thet are small, the company focused more on JVs.
Recent profit showed the fantastic turnaround...
cash flow was incredibly fantastic ....
only risk is.... one might question how sustainable...
stock shot up from 80 sen.... tongue.gif

GPharos.... turnaround .... but.... in the timber sector.... sweat.gif
Yup... the sustainability issue comes right up.....
2) Follow goreng plays?
Woahhh!!!!

Dangerous hor.......
Very risky....
Not everyone can make money swimming with the sharks. tongue.gif

NO.
Privatization offers is business.
Big mega bucks business.
But the business is from the owner's perspective and NOT the shareholders.
The owners will only make a privatization offer if they can really, really screw the minority shareholders.  sweat.gif
Remember not this point. tongue.gif
And NO... they do not and will not offer the public at NTA prices. (how can the owners make money with such offers? tongue.gif)
*
so after all you write, i can't see what i should do now besides blindly trading on my 555.txt unsure.gif

or just wait wait and wait whistling.gif

Eh? tongue.gif

You see SEAL?

Go see when they report their earnings.

Check the price then and now....  tongue.gif
For ULI.
You know the stock was fried previously.
Stock was lifeless for a long time...
Once the fun(d) from the island started buying...
was that a buying catalyst? tongue.gif
*
Seal? yeah party started after their Q report is released on the 30th may, a sudden surge???? ohmy.gif

NTA was priced 0.80 cent when it was traded for around 60 sen, after profit jump, there is where people jump in also

wonder what reason their revenue was suddenly so high?

Uli? so you consider the buying catalyst was foriengers? or big fund coming in in order for a stocks to grow besides looking at the profit trend?
