QUOTE(billy_overheat @ Jun 23 2014, 03:32 PM) Finally have some times to sit down after a few hectic weeks. Done with one liners! I dont like IOI too for its excessive valuation but there are a few more worse. I think people are betting towards the future with the likes of JTIASA for example. Wanna share some of my paper tradings and as newbs, I have so many questions to ask. Please slam me and wake me up, and lastly, lead me to the light. I've been keeping an eye on ioicorp, 1961 since last year (just some suggestions from my dad for me to watch) especially when the price of CPO hiked. After getting all the advices from the sifus over here, boon said "do paper trading." So, voila, I've "paper" bought ioicorp at the price of 4.140 (10 lots only, be realistic with my pocket) on 24/1/2014. (I wish I did buy it. Several reasons to like 1) Funds are back supporting it. (kwsp, kwp, asb and blablabla) 2) well established company 3) okok divvy from 0.17 in 2008 to 0.155 in 2013 (dropping 4) qtr PPE was raising from 1,678mil to 1,946mil during the period of sept to dec 2013 5) a few searches did indicate ioicorp will have increasing FFB and CPO yield 6) and of course, price hike of cpo Several reasons to dislike 1) fluctuating revenue 2) considered expensive for me 3) weather to cause CPO price to go up and down. 4) lesser young trees (after reading gark's posts) those reasons seem innocent wey, newbs, bear with me and teach me like your kid. Didn't really expect it to raise that much till now, 5.220. Which means, if I sell it, I've earned 25%+- in 6 months time. Will it continue to grow? or it's fully valued? many said not to be married the stocks, many said hold it as long as possible. Will it grow again? Will it drop? I don't mind to hold it because that's the money which supposed to lay only in the bank. However, if I'm looking for capital growth, I should trade? Paper earning/paper losing is nothing till the moment I click the sell button. Therefore, all sifus, shed some lights to the very newbs. |

QUOTE(billy_overheat @ Jun 24 2014, 08:37 AM) Indeed yeah. JT does have a lots of young trees. Currently I'm trying to dig things about plantations and Gark is the pro in this field. Where is he? The thing is would you field a whole team of unproven youngsters or stick with the proven one while trying to inject some new blood now and then?JTIASA is definitely crazily overvalued. Really cant understand what those research papers talking about the potential when the yeild is actually that much lower than they expected. When will the fruit ripe? |

Depends on your appetite for risk really.
From my brother's BIL, they are betting on OCK securing some solar power generation contract which is why the price flew from RM1 to 1.4x Of course, in Malaysia, the power of imagination always beats reality. |

QUOTE(Boon3 @ Jul 8 2014, 07:58 AM) btw.... I think I better say this.... Easy...I am more inclined to think Ah Homer price of 160 is most likely difficult to reach. Market doesn't want to likey furniture business..... so take care hor.......... ps: me and ah gark talked about Ah Homer when it was around 65 sen. Just burn them all down and claim insurance instead. Instant millionaires. |

QUOTE(Boon3 @ Jul 16 2014, 09:19 PM) Why, why, why..... like so much NTA???? Hmm... Is it Tropicana?NTA can be so misleading.... ( and since it can be misleading, I really don't depend on this silly yardstick) Sometimes when market is hot, you see some unscrupulous folks using this yardstick to sell the stock. And most of the time, it is done when the said stock doesn't have much earnings to show for. Back to property stocks. Simple REAL example.... Let me ask you. LOL! Which property stock ..... got plenty, plenty and plenty of land ( = high NTA) but then .... the company very conservative.... one year (maybe two) only do one housing project........ which means.... despite great balance sheet ( tons of cash), huge landbank ..... but lousy profit. Worth investing? |

QUOTE(spring onion @ Jul 17 2014, 11:15 PM) boon, buying based catalysis might be slow as many speculator will whack up the stock before the official news is out, so still good to chase a stock even it's has been goreng by them? long term gain is still not an issue ( although lower margin expected ) but how about short term like 3-6 months? Malton looks nice ah? I bought 90c and sold 113c some time ago. I think Q3 is disappointing but property stock got season one. btw, malton, looks like 1.10 is a major resistance, if break 1.12 possible to limit up? cause i don't see any catalyst like elsoft leh btw, hevea is looking good ya. in my 555 list now. let's see how far can it go Pantech now going to challenge 115... Quite steady. Not quite sure what the future holds though. |

I dont know why PetDag can rally so much. In fact, it was not attractive at all even when it was around RM18. I took a look when they announce a big divvy last time. It has been going up nonstop ever since the divvy announcement.
