Hi all,

Just checked in to query about certain stuff on my mind. blink.gif

I've got a lvl 22 NE Hunter with a bear as a pet. However, I've come across other more attractive beasts (fireball shooting dragons) and would like to tame them too. Would it be possible to keep my current pet and tame a different one?

I tried to dismiss my pet and train another beast but it kept saying 'You have too many pets'. cry.gif

Any possible way to do do it? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! smile.gif

You can only have one pet (active) with you all the time. Dismissing it merely sends it away, you do not get rid of it.

There are two ways of getting more it:

1. If you want to keep your existing pet, go to a town and find a stable master. Stable your pet and then go tame the new pet. Anytime you want to change your pet, you can return to the stable master. You can purchase additional stable slots as well.

2. If you do not want to waste time running back to look for a stable master, right click on your pet icon and select abandon. You would not get back your old pet this way. The pet is discarded forever.

I suggest learning about stable master now because you will need to change pets quite often in the game to learn new skills to teach your pet.

Stable master is your best friend then smile.gif

Uh just so you know , hunters cant tame dragons smile.gif

oh btw if you want a pvp pet for caster interupts get a "broken tooth" lvl 37 cat in badlands for its 1.0 atk speed, the only other beast ingame with the same atk speed is the lvl 60 ZG bat, otherwise you can tame the lvl 60 boar in epl for the charge ability. hope this helps smile.gif

edit- 1 more thing to remember, theres a difference between "dismissing" your pet and "abandoning it", dismissing only put your pets away while abandoning it will permanently well .. abandon your pet ! lol, just make sure your stable has an open spot for your new/old pets.

I'm trying out a crocolisk at the moment and it has the Rank 4 Bite ability (btw, I'm lvl 26 Hunter). Tried a boar and it has charge ability, then a bear and it has lots of hit points, then a raptor and it gets hungry real fast. Was tempted to tame that dragon whelp but yup, it couldn't be tamed. Any other cool pet that I've missed out? icon_question.gif

There is a number of other cool pet for example the flying snake like thingy where you can find in the barrens
White bear in Dun Murough
And if you are an NE , go to IF and tame the white leopard and go back to darkshore. Your pet will literally shine

You can also try looking for pets such as Owl which are only available at lower level and around lvl55

There are also a black lion in the barrens
and a cheetah around her vicinity too. Both are around level 20ish

There is a white lion which can only be tamed if you are horde because it spawns from horde quest only

yeah thats a good website, too bad its wayy outdated especially about the pursuit speeds ever since everything was normalised a few patches back. I had a zg bat and av wolf and woah, those suckers can run from 1 end of the map to the other in under a minute.

Good news is the atk speed is still the same. what other pets you might wanna check out? Wolves have a short buff called "Furious Howl" that increases your dmg for the next atk you do, highest lvl of this pet skill can only be found on the LBRS worgs (rank 4)

ZG bats have an AOE debuff that reduces atk power (and it breaks the oppositions stealth too)

ZG Soulflayers/Flying Serpents are the only ranged atk pets i know of, theyre pretty sweet in pvp imo

Every cat can stealth/claw and bite, every boar can charge

If you wanna try something different, go to wailing caverns and fight till the last boss, and tame the White Snakes that come out before the actual boss( they white with green highlights, but theyre elites so be careful yea?)

basicly what you need to find is on petopia, just ignore the pet persuit speed parts smile.gif

White snake? I do rember them making snake untameable since long ago. Reason being snake is very very powerful or something like that.

Hi all, stabled my pet bear and tamed a moonstalker matriarch instead. Actually skill wise compared to my pet bear seems similar. I have already trained it in some skills but I was wondering ...how do I generate TP for the pets? Do they get talent points like us once they level up?

Oh yeah, I heard somewhere that you can 'steal' skills from other animals and teach to your pet? true?

They get training points as they level up and kill more stuff.

Actually, it is not really stealing. That is the only way to learn new skills. Some skills are exclusive to certain pets only.

Bite, Claw, Growl are some of the skills that can be learned by all. To get higher level of the skills, you need to tame different pets to learn that skill.

Charge is for boar only, Dive is for owl and bat (i think), and stealth are only for cats.

Hi guys,

My moonstalker pet ran away yesterday. I guess it didn't like dying too much in the wetlands (even though I kept feeding it).

Any other way to keep pets happy besides giving them lots of food? I find that my moonstalker eats more than my bear (mainly due to its constant unhappy status?).

So...umm...can anyone teach me how I could get skills from a new pet? As for transfer to another pet..easy lor, just train beast rite? smile.gif

To get new skills, tame the pet, use the pet until you get a msg saying "You have learn XYXYX skill"

Then go to your Power/Skills screen, there is one skill for training your pet.

Do not dismiss your pet, that reduces happiness by 50%. Feed it whenever it is unhappy. Do not let it die alot.

Always keep the pet in Green status for the happiness.

Having a pet in WoW is just like having a pet in real life, gotta keep them happy, well fed and take good care of them.

The button is called "Beast Training" I think.

Simply put that a hunter's pet is something like your friend on the battlefield. They will fight with you, their purpose is to hold aggro and let you shoot from distance safely.

You must keep your pet happy at all times or it'll leave you or even turn on you. You can see your pet's hapiness level at their icon.

Pet fights more = become unhappy
Feed them food = become happy

When their happiness drop, their attack damage will also drop. Pets at full happiness(green smiley) will do 125% damage. Pets at average happiness(yellow smiley) will do 100% damage. Unhappy pets will do 75% damage. So you have to keep your pet happy at all times to get max damage from your pet.
