Oh, Thank you so much prasys and xordMeztGeR. oooooooooooooooooH ! a matlab for mac? gr8! Yup, I'll get a mac mini and beef up d RAM and let it let fly biggrin.gif . An apple salesman gave me a short preview of windowsXP running on imac with boot camp. I have a few uncertainty here :
(1) Do i have to buy bootcamp or is it free of charge (FOC) ?
(2) Upon installation of winXP o/s, do i need to get drivers for it or can windows recognize the hardware automatically?
Thanks =).

bootcamp is free and bootcamp itself provide the driver for winxp, you only need a blank cd-r and burn the driver image

its F.O.C and then you need to create your own CD. Just insert your windows CD [ahem ahem also works..but use it at your own risk] , and then it will create a new windows cd with the drivers loaded....thats the beauty of it

2. Yes , OSX can read/write office files with Office:2004 and OpenOffice

Boot camp only allowing you to select which OS to boot. If you want to switch from WinXP to OSX (or vice versa), you need to reboot.
Another alternative is to use Xen, which allowing you to run multiple OS at the same time(be it WinXP, OSX or Linux). Very suitable to impress your friend tongue.gif

I'm waiting on Darwine. It ought to be less resource intensive
and doesn't require you to buy Windows.

Please compare apple to apple.

IMac actually is not cheaper than MacBook black. If you compare with Imac intel core duo 2ghz (which is same with MacBook Black processor) it slightly more expensive than MacBook Black, It will cost u RM RM 6,899.
