Hi, next week im gonna sit on airplane and fly to JB for an interview.
cost around 400 buck for fly over and back

actually this company not found in jobstreet or starjob etc, just that my friend work in there so i just ask for the address and send it over.

so far 1 months+ pass since i graduate still no jobs.
apply so many through job fair or online or jobstreet etc all no reply, only this company i post them a letter and they reply me a email ask me for interview.
my cgpa 2.55 maybe consider very sux lor.

in mail they aks me bring along photostat IC, photocopy of cert and 1 picture ( does this mean they want hire me?)

erm, the interviewer is a chinese male manager ( i assume is some ah pek).

so, can experts here teach me how to handle this interview? i really hope to hit it since it cost me 400 bucks for this interview. also dont want let my parents down, always nagging me at home and 1 of my uncle start look down on me

the job is about quality control Engineer in some semiconductor company.

1. should i speak mandarin to the interviewer when i meet him? or english.

2. around what type of question will he ask for my job?

this is my 1st interview really hope can get it

Wow RM 400 per interview !! U are from MMU rite ..Convo it's around the corner , u going to stay untill convo ? That day i went for one interview and they ask Wat Is my strengh , i'm afraid it's a popular question.. speak in english better ler ....

What kind of company are you going for interview.
BTW, interview is nothing actually, speak english if can lor.

those are required docs whenever u go for an interview. doesnt mean they'll hire u la... as for the 400 bucks thingie...u pay urself ar?? or can claim back wan??

1. wait for him to speak 1st. if he starts out talking english, go with the flow, reply to him in english.

2. do ur homework before u go interview eg background of company. core business etc etc. as for competency Qs, prepare for some Qs like 'where do u see urself in this company 5 years from now?' etc etc....

not going for convo, cgpa like shit where got face to go.

WAT!!? u not going ? Results are nothing ler ...dun take it seriously........

ok now 2 question i need prepare as said from above is:-

1. what is my strength

2. where do you see yourself in 5 years


so the answer for these 2 is what?

1. hardworking, willing to learn. anyhting else? dont dare to say im so good in blablabla etc, learn humble can? if not later he shoot me tough ques i ma die

2. how to answer for this 1? really no idea. can i reply i see myself still working for the company?

also, when meet him i need to greet him 1st ma. can greet him in chinese or english. very scare oo
also rm400 i pay myself, actually my parents pay for me haha.

1) depend on what the interviewer spokes to u.. i rmb last time, i started with english but ended up mostly on mandarin. normally it depends on situation, act accordingly!!

2) wher u come across this company? why u apply for this job? a little bit of ur background and so on... just be natural!!

nope not going, heard need swipe smart card and your face appear on big screen?

not handsome, result not good better dont go. waste money stay in hotel with family, waste money rent the graduation robe and photo taking.
actually i extend for 1 year liau, cos 1 last subject fail extend 1 year just for that subject so no friend in convo also, really siasui my parent face, haih.

ER......I think no time for u to greed him also, just go in sit diam diam. My previous intervies was a disaster, try to talk alot bullshit with them so u won't be so nervous. Try to be talkative, for me i'm not a talkative person,but i have to be one on that day. By the way, Put ur hand on ur lap, that is wat the agency officer told me .

Ur strength should deserve an answer about ur field in engineering would be a better choice....

dunno ler, that day she call me go in, i also din't greet her ....liao ..depends the situation ler, cos my interviewer like kinda "ok" type .....she din't wait me to greet her and just go on with her topic...

I think the hardest part is the question regarding my studies, she ask me why CGPA(2.54) so low...I was like kena rasuk for a while....thn i answer her like this "practically i'm being active in other society, and some are causes by the influence from my frens" then she gave me a very nice smile.

walao brother, we are same cgpa my cgpa 2.55 win you 0.01 haha.

about ur 5 years question? please dont say u will be working in this company only if u wan then say la.. u will be how good is it able to handle this or that. Answer something that u will be archieving.
As i remember they ask me this question. My answer is i can see myself sitting in your position in 5 year and looking for new staff too.. they open the eyes big big maybe too shock hearing this so special answer. This is the last question from them after tat because the begining question i done veli bad n i think i would be selected. The next day i get the call from them and they offer me the place lolz..

wateva izit, during interview, show ur strength. if u dun have, think of some now. hardsell urself to the interviewer, give him reasons why shud he/the company wants to hire u. show ur enthusiasm towards the job during interview. for me, during interview is the best time to 'blow water'.

exactly. make sure u give answers like managerial position or sth liddat. this shwos that u got the hunger to move up in this particular company. u got the ambition to go further. and this will makes the interviewer impress with u oso.

bside answer hardworking and willing to learn and my field of studying suit this position i also dont know what to answer.

if can get this job is dem good loh 2.3k salary and 4 months bonus per year.

try this , when u enter and sit down , first thing u must open YOUR mouth FIRST by asking " What can i do for <insert company name here> ? " try be active in the interview , ask them question instead them asking you question, dont wait till they ask u "got any question? " be pro active .

interviewer look for the out of the norm things in an interview session. when u can make them say "WHAT THE FXXK" in their heart, u know u will easily get the job.

best of luck. take every interview as a learning experience. look on the bright side , the more u go for an interview the more u will be an expert.


oh ya forgot to add, where long sleave shirt with tie and long office pants, with office shoes. no sneakers , no short sleeve, if ur wearing a jacket , do take it off when entering the interview room.

from my experiences, all interviewers start with "tell me about urself", then they start expand from what u told them from this question.

Don't worry about the RM400, you can claim it back from the company but make sure you tell the HR first

JUST BE CONFIDENT BUT NOT ARROGANT...

yo, yesterday night hang out with some good PR people and they teach me how to answer your question.
interviewer: why your result so bad?
you: well results not good doesnt mean that you dont know how to work, the importance is a person attitude towards his work. Look at Bill Gates for example, he's a school dropout and yet he can be so successful. Actually many things we learn in uni doesnt really apply in some of our work. If you're willing to teach me, Im willing to learn. you can entrust your work to me and i will proff it to you uring the probation period.

normally when they ask you tell me about yourself. then you say my father n mother retire, im eldest son responsible to support them. then say you're hardworking, willing to learn, and a careful and responsible person when it comes to work.
the 5 years question answer you say 5 years i quite a long period. in 5 years i am a manager in this department and you will be promoted to a higher rank.

Those questions asked regarding your personal life (self) are just teaser. Nothing to be worried much from that. Pay more attention on questions related to technical knowledge and leadership skills. Perhaps some situational based questions as well ... to test your thnking ability.
