It depends on the offset of the sensors of the motherboard which is never accurate unless calibration was done properly at design stages. Best way to accurately find out is not by plugging in more harddisks or any sort of home brewed solutions. It's by using a multimeter probe and continuously monitor the voltages outputting at the molexes (Which has 12v and 5v rails connected) to be sure. And FYI overvolting within 5% is ok. Generalisation is a very dangerous thing to do even in life
