how to activate mms/gprs for celcom?
i'm asking on behalf of my friend who uses celcom xpax.
try to surf celcom website but it seems that i cant logon to the website.
*
Previously prepaid customers have to active GPRS manually via sms or careline but recently they changed. All prepaid numbers is auto-activated. So you're ready to surf but of cuz you need GPRS/MMS settings.

Sms method - GPRS ON to 90000 (FOC)

QUOTE(hanger @ Jul 2 2008, 10:13 AM)
Hi, any one know how to stop Celcom send their promotion sms to our HP ?
On average, I received 2 Celcom/Channel X promotion SMS every day and
I find that rather disturbing.
*
You have to call careline @ 1111, they will create a case for you but I don't think can 100% fully stopped all promos, will left out some (my opinion while working as CSE @ Celcom call centre, now moved to tech helpdesk)

Here to clarify that all my replies here is NOT as a Celcom staff, I reply behalf of myself as LYN forumer. Thx.

QUOTE(bluefries @ Aug 21 2008, 04:38 PM)
i need celcom MMS setting for o2 Atom

anyone got ?
because currently it seem sending till 80% then cannot send out
*
My friend who are using O2 Mini claim that PDA phones have trouble using MMS service, he tried with other operator, same thing happened. Setting is correct but sometimes failed to send/receive.

You can refer to - http://channelx.com.my/mdp/gprs/mms_config...el_name=o2_atom

There had been 90pages for this topic, if you still having any difficulties/inquiries regarding Celcom, pls bring it up again as 90pages is too much for me to read 1by1.

I will try to answer/solve all your difficulties/inquiries as fast as I can or i'll provide you with solution. ^^

QUOTE(Hinika @ Jun 5 2008, 10:20 AM)
i had receive my bill few days ago,

what does the Monthly Fee-Prorate charge?

and celcom doesnt have the service such as caller ringtones in OCS ?

sry new celcom users, lol
*
Pro-rate - Apply for first month bill or last month bill (the month that you terminate your line).
Pro rate means charge what you used.
Scenario 1 :
I apply a Celcom postpaid CEP 50 line on 24-August and my billing cycle is 28-August, then Celcom will only charge me RM50 divided by 30days = RM1.66; RM1.66 X 5 (5stand for 24-Aug to 28-Aug) = RM8.30.
RM8.30 = Pro-rate.

Celcom don't include CMT(Call Me Tone) service in OCS, there is another website for it. www.channelx.com.my
You have to register your mobile and you can purchase songs via website.

hm, my minutes50 also giving 0.20 cents/min..

mrcola,
is there any obvious advantage that cep plan have over the old minutes plan? so far i can't really see any major ones.. ><
*
CEP plan monthly call/sms/data(pay per use only) usage RM60.00 - RM79.90 = 10% discount; usage RM80.00 - RM149.90 = 20% discount; RM150.00 and above = RM30% discount.

Minutes plan do not offer any discounts whereby CEP have discount depend on your monthly usage.

EDIT :
1. Discount Percentage will only be on Domestic Calls and SMS.

2. Total usage includes Domestic, SMS, MMS, Video Calls and Data Browsing (If customer opt for Pay Per Use)

3. MMS, International Roaming, IDD and Data Browsing are not applicable for the Discount.

No prob, bro.

If your monthly bill exceed RM60 I recommend you to change it to CEP due to have percentage discounts. New plan normally will be more cheap and suitable for customers.

P/s: If you having the said problem, it is due to the APN is not configured. When you're under Celcom3G coverage, Celcom will update your APN but when you're not in 3G coverage, system doesn't update your APN and so you have to configure the APN manually.

Pls follow exactly small letter on all the words in bold. Should be no prob. Gd luck.

If problem still persist, pls kindly PM me your phone number, I will try to reset your network in system, after I reset, you can restart your phone and retry. If still failed, you might have to check with phone shop.

Mr Cola,

I was thinking.. instead of changing my plan from minutes50 to cep50, should i choose the cep20??

I have tried check the celcom website, but not much details except the front page.. do u have any further details on cep20? for example, does cep20 have the discount thing?

thanks bro.
*
If I am not mistaken, no percentage discount for CEP 20, percentage discount only applicable for CEP 50.

Due to CEP 20 just launched not long ago, Celcom will take awhile to update celcom.com.my.

Oh yeah, your total of domestic call/sms/data usage minus 30%

Wahlao. Quite a big amount, hehe. Consider about CEP 50, RM0.12 for each but there is percentage discount. So at last, you still get cheaper domestic call charges. Just my 2cent, not trying to promote Celcom tongue.gif

Bonded? You mean "locked" to Celcom whereby Celcom doesn't let you register with other operator or other meaning?

Celcom doesn't lock you at their carrier, you are free to register with other operators if you're not blacklisted. Blacklist meaning that having unpaid bill for either Celcom, Maxis or DiGi.

Oh yeah, I just noticed chg plan to CEP 50 only can be done in branch.

Yeah, CEP 20 is like every month you have to top-up RM20, another word that RM20 is a must for CEP 20.

Each minutes you call out is RM0.20 and RM0.12 for each sms. If you use exactly RM20 and didn't add VAS (Value Added Services - such as itemize bill {state all your outgoing call/sms/data usage}, CLIR {so-called private number} and etc) your bill will be RM20 only.

Opposite if you make call/sms more than RM20, you have to pay what you've used.

P/S: Pls don't refer to above notes due to not confirm yet. Will update confirmed answer soon. TQ.

Samsung quite complicated, different models has different settings, NK and SE has few standard method to do the sett.

But anyway, you can try this :

Main Menu > Messages > Settings > Multimedia message > Multimedia message profiles > Profile settings > Edit any existing profile :

# Profile name : Celcom 3G MMS
# Server URL : http://mms.celcom.net.my
# Proxy : Enable
# Select GPRS settings
# IP address : 010.128.001.242
# Port : 8080
# APN : celcom3g
# Press Save (2X)
# Press back
# Select current profile
# Celcom 3G MMS > Select

Font in bold must follow exactly small letters and no spaces, in 1word. Hope it works or you can click here and refer to other Samsung models. Gd luck.

Guys, fyi CEP 20 plan RM20 is monthly fee, not commitment fees, another word, RM20 is access fee which didn't include any call/sms. Every month you have to pay RM20 + your call/sms usage + 5% government tax. Refer to attachment below. TQ.

Yeah, not sure about DG 20 but if you use CEP 20 for more than 6months, you're entitle to chg to 1+5.

1+5 = Free voice calls, SMS, video calls and MMS between Principal lines and Supplementary Postpaid lines are subject to a capping of 40 hours of voice and video calls, and 2,000 units of SMS and MMS per subscriber per month, and all the lines are active. The capping will implement on month of November 2008.For existing 1+3 plan customer will be notified on the capping before its launch.

Voice calls and SMS made to other number or exceeding the above capping will be charged at 30sen/min and 10sen/SMS. Video calls made to other number or exceeding the above capping will be charged at 30sen/min flat. MMS made to other number or exceeding the above capping will be charged at 35sen/MMS flat.
