it's an old lens.

as a walk-about lens, it wouldn't work well on crop body because the FOV would be around 33 to 88. You'll miss out on a lot of the WIDE part.

on ff body it'll work great, 22mm is already very wide so it's a very versatile range.

for portrait then both could work possibly well, as long as the image doesn't deteriorate too badly towards the tele side.
