not mech pencil, but for fp, aparently, Jusco stocks much more brand choice as compared to most shops out there. for example, in Jusco cheras, i saw brands like Sheaffer, Lamy, parker, pilot, Waterman(ink), Cross. heck they even have an engraving machine too

on another note, i heard CZip Lee stocks some good stationery stuff. is it true? never been there yet

Most places I been to have lots of nice pens (and fountain pens) to choose from, but very few display the 'nicer' mechanical pencils, or at least a very limited selection. Even the smallest most obscure stationary shop I've been to carries at least a selection of Parkers..

Btw, where is Czip Lee?
*
example of shops pls?
CZip Lee is somewhere in bangsar. need to google the exact location though

Popular always disappoints, MPH seemed like a better bet but I did not find what I was looking for. No luck with The Store either. First Touch is where I bought my graphgear 500 n 600 (they're alright) but they dont have anything more expensive. I found a rotring set going for rm140 at a small bookshop near my place, but I only wanted one pencil and they dont sell anything else rotring. The next time I checked, it was gone.

where's first touch?

True. But from 300 to 500 is not a big jump; maybe RM15-20. If going to 600 then it is big jump.
I'm keen on Rotring. Pentel haven't tried but I like the look of the Graph 1000. Also the Uni Kuru Toga (metal edition).
*
i think the kuru toga you're referring to is the roulette version. gonna get mine in a few days. so excited rclxm9.gif
and the roulette looks like a rotring, thus influenced my choice of model purchase

What is the difference of the roulette version? Well I only saw and bought the plastic version.  laugh.gif

basically the high end one (and more expensive) are the roulette and the the high grade. the difference between these two are the rubber grip VS knurled metal grip of the grip part. the body part are still plastic unfortunately

Brands like Pilot and Pentel are quite common. Can find in many stationery shops. Are you looking for any brand in particular?
*
anything that's better than your everyday buncho leads lol. if they sell in bundles, even better since they don't come cheap

I normally use Pilot or Pentel, but even within those brands got different range. Seems the Pentel Ain Stein is highly rated.
*
any shops in KL that sell those?

QUOTE(Guenhwyvar @ Jan 31 2015, 11:33 PM)
I somehow prefer Buncho's over Pilots though.  laugh.gif
*
well it is dirt cheap and the quantity is twice of the pilot. not to mention longer. too bad it's 2B. easy to break

btw guys, if you want to buy Pentel Ain Stein for cheap, go to Popular book store and find those value packs. each pack contains 3 tubes and each of these tubes contain 12 leads.
so total per value pack is 36 leads. best part is the price. each value pack is only rm3.60!
comparing to the usual one tube which contains 40 leads, those costs rm10 iirc.
i know it sounds too good to be true, but the value pack's package had pentel malaysia's office address and details and checking at pentel malaysia's website, these 12 lead tubes are legit.
bought quite a few myself

Actually the one tube with 40 leads is about RM5-something only. Can be found in Popular bookshops also.

But at RM3.60, the 3 tube value pack is still better!
*
really? looking at some sites, their price are about $3. and i remember checking them out at cziplee and they are charging for rm10 or something. weird. where did you found them? just in case i need to restock some more
