That's interesting, thanks for sharing
Basically it's the price factor. But I also think lack of promotion regarding video games are also the cause of this. They probably think it's very easy to make a video game thus they don't see the reason to pay a high price for it.
as in GDC and GCA ?
Remember 1 difference my friend, Game Developers are passionate in making their game the best, hence many can commit to crunch time and forget about what life is
A game publisher is focus more on revenue and numbers. My friends game the publisher took 7:3 of the revenue share
Well, spending power of RM100+ for 1 game is actually quite pricey. My survey shows that many would support if games were below the RM50 mark, which is a dollar to dollar comparison to the US.

Well, the reason for the cancellation of GCA is due to lack of audiences. Codemaster alone won't be enough so maybe Singapore companies should join to promote as well. Could I know what do you mean by Proposal? I think PIKOM should be able to help organizing event.
Yea I know, but some1 still need to keep the ball rolling. I forgot the name of the event, but there were game conference in the US which is funded by kickstarter

If i recall correctly it was formed by college students. Forgot the details.
What Im trying to say here is, be in a crowd of 50 or 500, we still need to start somewhere. Comic Fiesta also took a good 8 years to reach where they are currently.
Codemasters is not enough, true fact ! Maybe we can invite our neighbour SG to contribute some talents ? We can also call back our Malaysian's who have made a name for themselves outside of Malaysia such as Wan Hazmeer who is currently Game Designer in Square Enix. Im sure they will gladly take part in such events.
Too bad WCG has cancelled, if not that can be use to collaborate

Proposal basically means a formal proposal towards a company on the details of the event, and how the company can contribute to the event. I did 1 years back to codemasters when Max was still GM over there. He and 2 of his peers came over to our college APIIT and gave a 3 day short talk. Lim Kok Wing and MMU was invited for that event

You will be surprise that game companies are ready to chip in, is just no game plan has started. And next will come to funding issues
