if u want a good pomp, suitable haircut is a must and a really good pomade will ensure u with well done pomp.

so doing a pomp using grease need practice... and patient... loads of it.

loads of tutorials are only guidelines for u to do pomps because at the end of the day u urself will develop ur own skill of doing a pomp.

its ok to make some mistake along the way... u learn from it.

im using grease but not for doing pomp but slick back. best grease for me right now is goon grease from lockheart, grandads heavy hold and shimere heavy hold.

most of the time i mix them up for max effect. usually top using goon grease and at the back i use grandads.

shimere...? that one is really2 heavy.... i use it occasionally. for pomp i would say its one of the best.

my source of pomade? the yard ss15 and from online.

will add my collection with a collab pomade from lockheart soon...

Just curious cause you had one line that got me inquisitive. Isn't pompadour essentially the same as slick back, only that you create a pomp after slicking your hair all the way back? And I'm also pretty curious about how you mix both products. Do you combine them together or you apply one particular pomade for the back of the hair and the other for the front?

Kindly enlighten me as I am rather poor with hair grooming products, lol.
*
pomp usually need less longer hair and as for me i have a very long hair so i decided to do a slick back.

i mix the product because both have strength and weaknesses. on the top i use goon grease because it can hold well and flatten my hair and at the back i put some grandads because it keeps my hair at the back tidy. i have a wavy hair so if i wanna look slick as possible, this is one of the method i use.

the way i combine it? put goon grease as based, work my hair out, then use grandads applied it on the back of my hair... recomb again and tidy it up for the finish.

anyways, dont confuse urself about mixing product or whats not. For me if u really interested on doing pomp, i say just do it man.

LOL. I've watched all of the videos prior to posting here. Didn't help :'(. I even watched this.

Didn't help much, maybe because I'm not using the right stuffs. And yes, you were right on with how I was describing my hair. Another thing worth mentioning is my hair falls down rather then falling backward. I noticed most guys with pomp hairstyle have hair falling to the back when their hair is unstyled, mine just falls to the front like bangs sad.gif.
Thanks man. Are these obtainable in KL?

Too much hair product lol. All could be achived with 1 suitable grease pomade. All the time ure setting ur hair can go to washing ur hair. Well, not really since most greasers dont wash their hair and sleep with the grease still on their hair and the only time they wash it is when it needed to be wash.
Same goes here for me. The build up is what makes the hold even better.

Is that the right term to use? Natural or Matte? I don't know what matte means. But yes, I don't want it to be too greasy and neat. By the way, could you use the reply button when you  reply to me, cause I wouldn't know there's a reply on the thread unless I check on it. LOL. I thought no one replied.

Argh, so frustrated sad.gif. I mailed HdF asking which of the product is suitable for hairs in humid country, no reply :'(. After spending few hundreds on pomade, now I have to sell if off again~ Sorry bro, your advice was great, but pomade just isn't giving me the kind of look I want, lol.
*
where u located? i got a couple of place where u can check out the product locally.

hey no problem my man, i dont do pomps, i do slick backs.... beside i cant force anyone to accept what i want right?

I haven't seen that lockhart cans before. But I'm a little reluctant to use lockhart anymore. The last time I used it took me 3-4 washes to remove it completely. Scary stuff. tongue.gif

i guess u never tried schimere before right?

that thing is the hardest thing to wash off period!

oh and that lockheart is a collab with gonzo malaysia. i find the super slick is awesome! and the heavy hold? yeah u can do a very high pomp with that...

Any places away from KL? Prefer Mont Kiara/Damansara area if you know any. Unless they're selling variation of HdF products, otherwise I'll just go SS15. I wanna avoid the heart of the city as much as I can  blush.gif

not did i know of...

i guess ur other best bet is finding online locally...
