Looks like they are using low quality red bricks.
But nowadays most of the red bricks in the market are low quality.
Just make sure apply proper under coat and sealant before applying paint. Else it will expand due to water.
Not doing the concrete wall? If yes, better use sand bricks, cheaper and better than red bricks.

140sqft of extension, standard price are rm100-200 per wall ft. With all the basic stuffs in, plug points, light points and tiles(don't expet a fan point laugh.gif ), should be about rm20k-25k.
But location dependent. Price in Seremban will be cheaper Kl more expensive. But which contractor you get also price different.

they use clay brick instead of sand brick because is easier for them to plaster and paint. If you use sand brick + raining season, u cant get your wall dry for plaster and paint.

Well, considering the quality of clay bricks, the risk is there. So the under coat and sealant are important.

Throw it from your height to ground, sand bricks may have 1 break while clay bricks have 3-4.
Is the curing process that matters. Last time they use 1 hour now they use 5 minutes, this is to save cost of diesel.
As long as you do proper prevention measures, it can last long, just don't let it exposed to water too much.

I can't actually, because 8 years ago most of them already start reducing the curing time to keep cost low.
Maybe from the price can differentiate, but then if your contractor uses low quality you still won't know.

Actually can see some, as the color of the bricks are not the same. If the curing time are proper(meaning all dried totally inside the oven), then it will be uniform and looks brighter.
But TS's bricks used look "wet".
