I dunno but transformers that can't transform just doesn't feel right to me sweat.gif
*
you got that right(i've been saying that since they come up with the 1st revoltech OP).

it's basically gundam style model of a transformers. rclxub.gif

on another note, from all the trailers, looks like AOE might turn out to be another DOTM, too much action and no character. am i the only one who thinks that? hmm.gif

agreed. AOE design in general looks more like gundam. they look great in bot mode. but in practicle it's imposible to transform into the alt mode. thus shellformers is the only solution. i think it lost most of the characteristic of a transformers

non-transforming figure is a big no no for me.  shakehead.gif
*
i remember when mBay said he didn't want to make megatron into a gun in tftm because it's not logical for a big robot to transform into a tiny gun. although it didn't bother him that frenzy's head can transform into a phone. rolleyes.gif

in my view, mBay's TF was never "transformer". it's more like transmorphers.

I think it was better than ROTF, DOTM, mainly because no more Sam and stupid(braindead) jokes. At least the Autobots gets better somewhat characterization this time around. And with this being planned as a new trilogy, at least the plot set up some new things.

The biggest disappointment?

Not perfect, but a step up from previous sequels.

QUOTE(omichael @ Jun 27 2014, 07:23 PM)
The TF movie franchise makes me embarrassed to be a TF fan.

The only good thing about Bay is how he's willing to kill off characters, just like the original 80's movie.

And even then, he sabotages this decision by creating almost zero characterization for the robots...

So you don't even care when they die. Even the robots themselves don't show any emotion when their comrades die.

Hoping for a reboot. New director, new creative direction, new everything...
*
well, guess i'm not watching it then. mBay's movies remain to be all about the pow and the boom, no plot and sense whatsoever. shakehead.gif

QUOTE(tnsai @ Jun 27 2014, 10:50 PM)
Ugh glad to see that not liking the movie is ok here. A certain page  on FB which I shall not mention is very intolerant of reviews who dislike he movie...as a fan of TFmyself I cannot understand attitude like that... Not because is TF, everything also must like.. That one cross from being a fan to being a fanboy....
*
....either fanboys or posers just following the trends. rolleyes.gif

i don't expect the movie to be any better, but if i'm able to buy a ginrai with the excuse that i've just watched a disappointing movie, i'd be sooo happy sweat.gif .

On the contrary, i think the film is not too bad la. I find mbay takes on the tf is quite fresh. New way of putting things. It will sirely offend or irk u if u r a tf purist. If u r a casual movie watcher just wanna some enjoyment, the film will give u just that.

No offense guys. Just my humble opinion.

Ps: i follow tf since tftm. So i dont have ties with 1980s tf. Overall i quite enjoy the tf movies. tongue.gif
*
now go watch all the TF series prior to tftm or just watch the original 80's TF movie(the cartoon one) as a punishment. see if you can agree with yourself afterwards. hmm.gif

anyway, ever since dotm, mBay has shown me that a movie can actually have too much action. that and plus the inappropriate toilet humour = Bay is bad director for transformers. the 80's cartoon transformers movie was way better than any bayformers movie. and when a cartoon has better story development than a real world movie, something has to be wrong. worst part is, you can see these a lot lately(in new movies).

what i meant is, you can replace them with any other team (wreckers, combiners, or just 4 random autobots) and the storyline still goes. they serve nothing plotwise
*
no robot actually serve a purpose plot-wise except for OP, BB and Megs/Galv. that's why the others either have no personality or just a generic(useless) personality.

... if i recall, the dinobots in the g1 series also serve no purpose other than reinforce the autobots when needed and hit and smash the cons. and bot mode... all these while also no use de la... most of the time they are in dino mode. their dino mode is stronger than their bot mode.

if i remember correctly, in one G1 episode, meg blow up something, cause a great explosion and all the dinobots were blown to pieces. that time the dinobots are in their bot mode right? their bot mode is their weaknesses
*
seriously?

who could forget that quote when they see grimlock? thumbup.gif g1 dinobots have more personalities then all of bayformers combined.

i didn't forget, i haven't watched it and don't plan to. laugh.gif i was actually referring to the last 3 iterations. the idea will stay that way.

people thought Bay can make the few seasons of G1 story into 2.5 hours movie?

some more in the new era, some logic or not logic need to considered too. and TF movie from Bay is not only targeted to TF fans, most of them duno anything about TF old cartoon.

U cant expect those never watch G1 saw this nowadays cool looking dinasour say "Me Grimlock smash all enemies.." or something? they will just feel "what a joke?" "looks so stupid" these kinda feedbacks..

every series has their own stoylines too, Bay has his own. he cant follow exactly G1 la..

anyone blame TF Prime storyline, "why the hack Unicron is the Earth itself? anyone?
*
i don't know about the other "people", but i don't expect bayformers to stick to G1 everything. problem is, it's a movie about transformers, but bay manages to spend money to blow everything up, but he cant spend some money to develop the "transformers" character. that's my biggest gripe since tftm. bay tries too much to make the robots human-like, with the need to blink, to have mouths, to have expression, to know sex, that he left the most important part, character.

for one who never cared about g1, that still translates into bad directing.

grimlock was a prominent character in G1, but Bay put him off as a mindless beast. blink.gif it's like putting war machine in an ironman movie but never giving him a dialogue.

i agree Bay ruined TF.. but some part as i said.. this is just 2.5hours movie.. its difficult to bring out more character development if we want more tf in a single movie. unless like TFTM, only 5 autobots.

but at that time maybe people will ask " After so many episodes, how come so less TF appeared? WE WANT MORE TFs!!"

* btw, there is a youtube video named something like the honest trailer, it did say.. this is a movie that sell toys.. tongue.gif tongue.gif without new characters, hasbro cant sell toys.. whistling.gif
*
correction, it has been 3 movies + another 2.5hours movies and it's still the same. it's frustrating. i don't really want world war scale war + more TF. i just want the characters to have some kind of......well character. honestly, if i never cared about transformers, i'd have a hard time recognizing ironhide from ratchet.

and yeah, the reason behind all these is just "business". cry.gif

not that i like the movie so much and defending it. i do know there r flaws and plot holes in the movie.

again, it's a 2.5 hours movies with so many characters, not to forget the humans as well... and unlike movies like ironman or thor or captain america.... they get a whole movie (maybe 2 or 3) to themselves only. plenty of screen time to develop the character. but when u got avengers, the movie is basically the same as tf, no much character development as well.

same case with x-men... how many mutants in the movie? and how many character in it that actually got explained of their origin? they mainly just focus on the few like wolverine, magneto and prof x...

yelah but in the end, who would COD a KO/Factory stock item? Coz I know getting an ori Striker Prime or any of the ROTF Prime now is goreng like nuts d, so no point. Some of the TF forums are saying the KO Buster Prime is very good, so that's why tempted to get one but I'm worried is it harmful to health because of the word 'KO'(takut the paint is dangerous and etc).
*
for the rotf/dotm prime(and KO in general), your biggest concern shouldn't be the paint causing cancer, it's not like you're going to digest or smoke the thing laugh.gif . it's basically the same cheap paint you find in hardware shops. those kind of concern are for toddlers toys, because toddlers/babies tend to put things in their mouth(don't tell me you do that too laugh.gif ).

the concern is the joints. KO tends to use cheaper materials. sure, most would feel all nice when you first bought it, try 3 months later. surely, some joints will become floppy. and considering how many kibbles/panels rotf/dotm OP has, i'd say only buy if you want a shelf warmer.

and for any reviewer who says KO tf is good, try asking them if they have the same opinion 3-6 months later. rolleyes.gif

he is hallow in some areas (cost saving measure by hasbro, i'm sure), but he is in no way unstable. has a pretty decent heft to him too, so you wont see him tumbling at the slightest touch. he feels pretty solid to me.

as for size comparisons...here:
